Washington State won at Washington today 84-80 in an exhibition game.
6'8 Ronnie Harrison led the Cpugars with 23 + 11. The Huskies got strong play on the interior with LuJuan Watts scoring 28, Lathan Somerville with 19 and Nikola Dzepina added 16 +12 but Washington needed more production from their perimeter players.

Stanford started off the game up 19-9, with Oregon ending it with a 31-5 run for a 40-24 Duck lead at half. Swarming D from Oregon, covering ground.
Malique Ewin makes his debut and made an impact. Fred Payne leading Ducks with 8, Tyrone Riley IV 7, and Pharaoh Compton with 6.
Think Oregon needs to make Chip Kelly an offer he can't refuse to become their offensive coordinator next season.
Certainly injuries at QB and WR have hurt Oregon's offensive performance but it is interesting to see who is at the top, and the bottom, of this new offensive coordinator list.

A #110 unit usually climbs the next year no matter who's calling it. A top-10 unit usually slips. So each new play-caller is graded against where his unit was expected to land. FBS rank, opponent-adjusted EPA per play, through Week 7.

One of the most underrated pickups in the off-season was Cleveland's signing of Mario Hezonja. He's put on 35 pounds since he last played in the NBA and at 6'8, 255 he's more of a 4 with strong shooting ability. Plus he knows how to play

The @trailblazers are the only NBA team in the last 25 years with a 20-0 or better run to open a season.
At least seven steps with a pass to himself thrown in.
GIANNIS JUST “PASSED TO HIMSELF” IN TRANSITION, TOOK ABOUT 47 STEPS, AND THEY CALLED IT A BUCKET…
You literally cannot pass the ball to yourself in the NBA. That’s a travel every single time at every level…
But superstar privilege is alive and well. Refs let him Euro-step from half court like it’s nothing…
This is why casual fans tune out. Same rules don’t apply to everyone…
How many more of these “missed” calls are we supposed to ignore this season?
Biggest surprise in the NBA tonight was Ty Jerome scoring a career-high 45 points to lead Memphis to a win. He made 5-10 3s and shot 17-25 overall. On a night where Cam Boozer shot 2-15 and missed all 6 of his 3s the Grizzlies still won by 20.
UCLA's Nikola Kusturica tonight. 10 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 steals. He's only 17. Will get a lot better and he's already extremely good, really knows how to play. And he'll only get better

Oregon thoughts this morning after watching film:
Lanning - the talk about him and his job are stupid and silly. Even the best coaches have had seasons they thought a position group was there and it wasn’t. And even the greats have messed up coordinator hires. Fix it in offseason and go back to work.
Offense - Bad. Bad.
Very few times are we seeing 11 people doing their job on the say play. Sometimes 10 or 9 and play goes to hell. So many plays are 1 routine black away from explosives.
OC - run game schemes aren’t bad. Execution poor. far too predictable in pass game. Not scheming enough people open. Hard to blame him for everything when OL is bad.
QB - play was awful. Missed reads, not throwing catchable balls. Truly stunning how bad it was. Should have brought Brock in earlier. He did a really good job especially considering the circumstances. Still need 5 back asap.
WR- need more YOLO balls on deep shots in 1v1 coverage. They will compete for the ball and especially Dakorien. DPI or a catch are most likely outcomes.
OL - 4 guys at a good level. 1 guys not and the 1 guy not changes almost every play. Horrible job on double teams getting to second level. Rinse and repeat. Too many whiffs. That destroys pullers who can’t not get to 2nd level. No QB can’t feel comfortable with the protection.
Defense was excellent and what you expect in terms of production and physicality. D-Line had their best game of the season.
LBs - improvement is real and excited about the rest of the season.
DBs - corners continue to be very good. Perich continues to struggle running the alley to tackle and m2m coverage. Other safety play was solid.
DC - best game of the year
Finebaum is right. Lincoln Riley is a fraud. At best you can say that he completely mismanaged this situation, but supposedly being completely unaware of what was happening on his own sideline is pretty bad.
And a one game suspension is completely inadequate. Hopefully the Big Ten will step in. Stephens should be suspended for one game longer than it takes Dante Moore to return.
USC somehow needs to start over again with a new staff.
"What I think we saw here was a tale of an elite coach and a complete fraud as a coach. And I think everyone knows who the fraud is, it is Lincoln Riley."
