From Rome here and seen it many times around Italy.
An account with Catholic in its name is unaware that non Catholics are invited up with the Communion procession with arms crossed indicating they’d like to receive a blessing. Saying it makes no sense to him! Wow! Time to change your name @CatholicSat
Non-Catholics receiving Holy Communion in St. Peter’s Basilica today because some Americans decided to present themselves to the priest with their arms crossed, I guess to get a blessing, in a practice that is common in America but rare outside of the anglosphere, and one that makes no sense and should not happen at the distribution of Holy Communion.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The crossed-arms practice for seeking a blessing (not Communion) is used or instructed in France, the Netherlands, the UK, Spain and elsewhere, and appears in the video from St. Peter's. Vatican guidance discourages individual blessings during Communion distribution.

Incredible post from someone who runs a Catholic themed / larp acount saying a standard, widespread and Church approved practice is "rare" and "should not happen"

Cardinal Vesco:
"Life is not easy, but I love this, my life. I was a very lucky Dominican, and I’m a very lucky man… It’s a tough country. In this country the more difficult things can become very easy, just like that, and sometimes very simple things can become very tough."

"It’s a delicate balancing act. The Catholic Church reaching out to help in society without seeming like it’s trying to evangelize or convert."

Stay close to us, Loving Mother, in these troubled times. Guide us to safe harbors when we are lost and afraid. Comfort us when our hearts are consumed with grief, and show us the way to lasting peace and joy in your Son, Jesus.

On this All Hallows Eve, let’s pray for an end to the evils caused by violence and war. May we receive genuine healing and hope in these troubled times. Mary, Mater de Perpetuo Succursu, pray for us.

It's not stress. It's recognition that you are just going to keep doing it indefinitely. You are a smart person. It's been laid out in front of you. You still say no. You did this with AL. The Church's entire case was laid out for you several times. You kept finding one more problem, one more nit.
Cardinal Vesco has probably encountered more beauty and more suffering and more miracles, and prayed and contemplated love and beauty and God's goodness more than you or I ever will.
And you treat him like he's a 3rd grader who got an answer wrong in catechism class. Except it's worse, because a tiny Church in a big non-Christian country is on the line and he keeps getting attacked. You should know better. But instead you pick and you pick.
Just stop. You're never, ever going to be happy with anything you treat like that.

Bp Guillard of Constantine:
"We are not here to preach the gospel to people through words and to disturb people. We are here for maybe two aims: to support the Christians who are here but also to build bridges of fraternity between Muslims and Christians."

Bp Carraro of Oran:
"Once again, we are not here in order to convert people. We are not here in order to become bigger, but we are here in order to love the others, to fulfill our vocation to be a small group of Christians in a country that is majority Muslim."
It’s not the capital letters he uses which intimidate me. It’s the horrific hate from an SSPX’er.

The journalists who interviewed Cardinal Vesco say @BishopBarron left out important context and attributed words to the cardinal that he never said. We’ve translated @cathobel’s response into English.

Dear Bishop Barron,
Cardinal Vesco is an incredible testimony of living the Gospel.
Encouraging always French and Algerians to recognise their different historical experiences and to work towards peace without passing the wounds of one generation on to the next. For more than…

He is evangelising by living the Gospel, helping people in need, and creating true needed peace.
