Dont just drive over New River Gorge.... there's a visitor's center with a great view of the bridge! Tudor's Biscuit World is like the state's fast food chain if you're looking for a place for breakfast. It's nothing life-changing but I miss it so bad

Seneca Rocks is also surprisingly popular with tourists, but it's a long switchback hike up. Bear Rocks at Dolly Sods is my favorite spot in the world for watching the sunrise if you find yourself in the area. the way up might be rugged though!

i think it's important to mention the song is more about a mythological west virginia than the state's actual condition. the writer grew up listening to a radio station in wheeling. during his travels, he basically went through the northernmost parts and nothing more.

it has never been an accurate representation because it's about what the writer dreamed the state would be like, and i don't think that's a bad thing. love for a home one never knew is still romantic.

If US states want a new flag, they should just do what the provinces did and convert their seal into a flag. Looks cool and preserves the heraldry.
