OCTOBER 22 (1947) PAKISTAN's KASHMIR INVASION DAY & SHAHEED MOHAMMAD MAQBOOL SHERWANI- SAVIOUR OF KASHMIR: Shaheed Maqbool Sherwani was a young Kashmiri Muslim activist who was crucified publicly by Pakistani invaders in Kashmir's Baramulla for deliberately misleading them, which facilitated the Indian Airforce to land in Srinagar, well in time and preventing capture of Kashmir by Pakistan. Shaheed Mohammad Maqbool Sherwani, prevented Pakistani invaders from capturing Kashmir Valley in 1947. Maqbool Sherwani was the chief architect of the defeat of Pakistani raiders, who were sent by the newly created Islamic Republic of Pakistan to forcibly capture the Muslim majority Kashmir Valley. The invasion of Kashmir Valley by Pakistani raiders began this day on 22nd October, 1947, which is marked as "BLACK DAY" in India's UT of J&K & LADAKH. The Pakistani raiders comprised of Pashtun tribals and Pakistani Punjabi Army regulars in disguise. WHY DID KASHMIRI MUSLIMS OPPOSE PAKISTAN'S INVASION OF KASHMIR IN 1947 ? An interesting question that often arises is that, why did the overwhelming majority of Kashmiri Muslims in 1947 oppose Pakistan, a country created in the name of Islam in 1947 ? Why did Kashmiri Muslims not welcome Pakistani invaders in 1947, knowing well that Pakistani invaders would facilitate the merger of Muslim majority Kashmir with Muslim majority Pakistan ? The answer lies in terrible atrocities committed by Pakistan raiders on Kashmir's non-Muslim minorities. Kashmiri society in 1947 was tightly integrated with Kashmiri Hindu Pandits, Kashmiri Muslims and Kashmiri Sikhs, all living in a perfect harmony. An overwhelming majority of Kashmiri Muslims of 1947 were highly secular and protective of Kashmiri Non-Muslim minorities. In 1947 Pakistan sent murderers, rapists, looters by labelling them as "Mujahideens" and "Freedom Fighters" to forcibly and illegally annex Kashmir Valley with Pakistan. Pakistani rulers of newly created Pakistan at that time instructed and lured tribal Pashtun invaders to KILL ALL KASHMIRI SIKHS, KASHMIRI HINDUS & CHRISTIANS in Kashmir, loot their gold and abduct their women as war trophies, called "Maal-e-Ghanimat" (war booty under Islamic law). Pakistani rulers were totally convinced that Muslims of Kashmir valley would welcome Pakistani invaders as "liberators" and let Pakistani raiders butcher all NON MUSLIMS of Kashmir Valley. But that did not happen. Kashmiri Muslims of that time were repulsed and disgusted by stories of murders, rapes, loot and plunder by Pakistani raiders, especially in Baramulla in North Kashmir Valley. Kashmiri Muslims at that time cursed Pakistan as a country created by Satan, which targeted innocent and defenseless Kashmiri Sikhs, Kashmiri Hindus and Kashmiri Christians. Shaheed Mohammad Maqbool Sherwani represented this critical mass of Kashmiri Muslim thinking of that time to tap into extreme anger amongst Kashmiri Muslims for newly created Pakistan. Kashmiri Muslims at that time refused to believe that a country created in the name of Islam would send rapists, murderers and looters to target helpless Non-Muslim minorities of Kashmir Valley. Maqbool Sherwani deliberately misguided Pakistani raiders in Baramulla from reaching Srinagar. After Pakistani invaders came to know that Mohammad Maqbool Sherwani had deliberately misguided them, he was horrifically tortured. Shaheed Maqbool Sherwani was beaten badly and then he was crucified in the main central square of Baramula town. Nails were thrust deep in both of his hands and legs. Pakistani raiders were angry with Shaheed Maqbool Sherwani for misguiding them in advance towards Srinagar. He was in the end shot dead and as many as 14 bullets were pumped in the chest of this young Kashmiri Muslim man by Pakistani raiders.
