Please prepare yourself and your family for frigid temperatures this weekend. The forecast in many places, particularly West Anchorage and Tyonek, is for significant winds and wind chills in the negative teens. Please gather supplies and be ready for any emergencies.

10:05 am: Early indications are that both Chugach and MEA lost generation causing the cascading outages across our service territories. Additional generation resources are being brought on line and we are coordinating power resotration. Thank you for your patience.
This allows for the system to remain in equilibrium - generation has to be in balance with the electric load - and avoids a much larger outage. Members will be restored to power as other generation is brought on line. 2/3
A load shedding event occurs when a major source of power goes off line. The system is set up to automatically "shed" a certain about of customers spread out across the city. 1/3
9:40 am - We have a load shedding event impacting thousands of our customers across the city. We are working to determine the cause and will have power restored as soon as possible.
12:40 pm: We have an outage impacting 786 members in the Mountain View area. A crew is en route. We will update when there is new information.
1:30 pm: The crew is patrolling the line to find the cause. The outage is along Bragaw, between DeBarr and Peterkin Ave.
Sunday -
4:pm- We have an outage in the area of Arctic and W. 76th impacting about 120 members. A crew is being called in to respond. Will update when there is new information.

6:30 am: We have an outage in the Mountain View area impacting about 945 members. A crew will be dispatched. Will update when there is new information
8:30 am: A crew is patrolling the line to find the cause. The outage also includes parts of Muldoon.
