Everyone laugh at Justin Herbert while you can. If he gets Jeremiah Smith next year, ain’t shit going to be funny for most the fan bases cracking jokes.

Justin Herbert all season
Patrick Mahomes hasn’t been good so far. But I’d love to know which QB would look any better with 2 backup OTs and the worst WR room in the NFL against the best defense in the NFL at home on Sunday night.

Kevin O’Connell and JJ McCarthy is the same storyline that Justin Herbert and Mike McDaniel have currently going on. Don’t mess with a quarterbacks mechanics if you don’t have to.
Part of me wonders if JJ McCarthy struggled in Minnesota partly because KOC was too focused on fixing his throwing mechanics. It felt like every conversation about JJ came back to his footwork, throwing motion, or how he threw the ball too hard. It reminds me of golf. Imagine standing over a shot thinking about five different swing thoughts. Those things matter in practice, but during a round? You’re just getting in your own head instead of playing. The “throws too hard” criticism always struck me as odd too. NFL receivers have been catching rockets off JUGS machines forever. Obviously touch and trajectory matter, but I wonder if all this emphasis became another thing JJ was consciously trying to manage during games instead of just playing football. I’m not saying his mechanics weren’t an issue. I’m wondering whether the constant focus on them became an issue of its own. It’s a tiny sample size in New York, but I have a hard time believing a change of scenery alone explains how different he’s looked. At what point does coaching a player’s mechanics start getting in the way of their ability to actually play?

For added context: Michigan offered Jeremiah Smith a scholarship in May 2022, while Jim Harbaugh was the Wolverines’ head coach. So Smith was already on Michigan’s recruiting radar before Harbaugh ever became the Chargers’ head coach.

Arch Manning just threw a ball that had helium in it to the other team

I would love nothing more than Shane Steichen and Justin Herbert reuniting. Regardless of the fact Shane Steichen manages football games like he learned from Anthony Lynn. The offense would be enough to overcome it.
𝗥𝗨𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗦: Colts’ HC Shane Steichen could draw serious interest from teams if he’s fired this offseason, per @HolderStephen Many around the league view him as a good coach in a bad situation.

Fine put the offensive line issues aside. Just watch the Chiefs tape. Not a single player on offense looks good. Players on offense have regressed. No one lines up properly and the defense respects nothing the offense is doing nor presenting pre snap. Whose fault is that?
I believe we have to stick with McDaniel because the era of good OL is over. Colleges dont prep Oline well for the NFL. NFLPA limits practice time. Dline is getting bigger and faster. Injuries are more frequent.

Borderline elite troll
2027 Mock Draft It’s early, but the draft is starting to round into form. 1. Chargers — Dylan Raiola, QB, Oregon.
The Chargers get their franchise QB. 2. Dolphins — Jeremiah Smith, WR, Ohio State.
Dolphins get their franchise QB an elite weapon. 3. Titans — Arch Manning, QB, Texas.
Titans QB battle will play out in training camp. 4. Buccaneers — Leonard Moore, CB, Notre Dame. 5. Commanders — Sam Leavitt, QB, LSU.
Commander re run LSU/Arizona state QB. 6. Jets (via Cowboys) — Rocco Becht, QB, Penn State.
Christian Hackenberg didn’t workout but jets giving PSU another shot. 7. Eagles — Colin Simmons, EDGE, Texas. 8. Texans — Drew Mestemaker, QB, Oklahoma State.
Local scouts talk Caserio into their new QB. 9. Cardinals — Nico Iamaleava, QB, UCLA.
Cardinals run back UCLA QB. 10. Jets (via Colts) — Dante Moore, QB, Oregon.
Can’t pass up the value of what they consider two elite QB prospects.

My main bone of contention with Jim Harbaugh is it shouldn’t take a week or needing “take a look at everything” to fire Mike McDaniel. The data is clear. Mike should’ve been fired yesterday

Maybe I overreacted and it’s not ownership. Jim Harbaugh has a track record of remaining fiercely loyal to his players and coaches to the bitter end. So it could be Jim and that eventually will cost him his job.
Replying to @cmsinclair
He can still strip playcalling duties from him even if he can’t fire him. Zero excuses for Harbaugh.

Translation. This season is cooked and ownership won’t let me fire McDaniel and pay him to do nothing. Anybody with a brain knows you gotta fire the OC to save your QB.
Harbaugh on if a decision has been made on Mike McDaniel: "We're looking into everything at this point. That process is ongoing, particularly offensively, scoring more points. Different, multiple situational ways that we need to play more complementary football." Added later: "0-6 does not give the privilege to rule out anything at this point."
