Planning on more FNLs still but it’s a wrap on year 2 of coaching JV. Went 5-3, saw huge improvement from last year due to a great group of kids I got to coach! Can’t thank the juniors enough, my first two years coaching them was a blast! They will be ready to take the next step!

l am blessed to announce my commitment to Benedictine College! I would first like to thank my family and friends for supporting me along the way and getting to me where I am, especially my parents. I would also like to thank the lord because without him I would not be where I am today. Lastly I would like to thank the coaches who have shaped me into the player I am today.
GO RAVENS!!

Phenomenal 55-0 TEAM win tonight! Couldn’t be more proud of these guys, in attack mode all night and playing for their brothers beside them rather than themselves. The work doesn’t stop here, keep climbing!

Even at 5-0, No. 9 Emporia State football keeps a chip on its shoulder.
This minute-long explanation from HC Garin Higgins on how the Hornets shaped their program philosophy is worth your time:
“The best thing that we have here is the players."

Woke up this morning wondering why bad things happen to great individuals. 44 gives his all every single day and would give everything up just to win a football game. It is a pleasure to be his coach. He is tough as nails and will come back better, that I do know. Love ya buddy!

College football suffered a heartbreaking loss on Saturday, August 29, 2026 - when William Jewell College junior running back MicahJo Barnett died following a medical emergency during the Cardinals’ season opener against Fort Lewis College at Greene Stadium in Liberty, Missouri.
Barnett had just scored the game’s only touchdown on a 1-yard run with 5:15 remaining in the first quarter. He had six carries for 30 yards as William Jewell led 7–0. Minutes later, he experienced a medical emergency on the sideline.
Emergency personnel immediately responded, and Barnett was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The game was suspended and ultimately canceled. Some reports referenced seizure-like symptoms, but neither William Jewell College nor authorities have announced an official cause of death. Out of respect for MicahJo and his family, we should not speculate about why this happened until additional information is officially released.
Barnett was beginning his third season at William Jewell and had already established himself as a respected student-athlete, teammate and young man.
His loss is bigger than football.
This is a wake-up call for every parent.
We see college football players with enormous strength, speed and muscle. We watch NFL players and sometimes place them on a pedestal as if they possess superhuman strength. But underneath the helmets, uniforms, statistics and highlight reels are human beings.
They are sons. Brothers. Friends. Teammates. Young men who need love, encouragement, friendship and support just like everyone else.
Sometimes former athletes talk about coming back because they miss the fans, their teammates and the energy surrounding the game. That energy matters.
We should ALWAYS give that same energy to our children and the people we love.
I reflect on my own two teenage boys, Justin Anthony (17YO) and Maine Jr., (14YO). Being away from them is always heartbreaking. I miss them every day. Every time I blink, they are getting older, growing and developing.
The expression “they grow in the blink of an eye” isn’t simply about the speed at which children grow. It is also about how quickly their lives, personalities, dreams and futures develop before our eyes.
Justin and Maine Jr., I love you every day, every minute, every second and every millisecond... forever & a day.
To MicahJo Barnett’s parents, family, friends, teammates and fans, hold tightly to the good memories of this young man. Continue pursuing your dreams. Continue being an example to others. Continue loving people while they are here.
Nothing is ever perfect.
Don’t wait for perfect.
Be there now.
Rest in Paradise, MicahJo Barnett. 🕊️🏈 – at Dublin City, Ireland
Very proud of this dude and excited for his future. To have two younger brothers to guide through life, watching them both succeed and become something even better than yourself was always the ultimate goal! Love that they both landed at a place I got to call home! Always 🐝⬆️!
Blessed to announce that I’m committed to Emporia State!! 🐝🆙 #AGTG #FOE

SEAMAN HIGH-FLYING VERTICAL PASSING ATTACK
(LtoR) COY BARTA, 6'3, 175, WR, '27; CALE KETTER, 6'2, 175, QB, '27; JOSH BROWN, 6'0, 175, WR, '27, last fall was just a warm but this trio still connected for just under 1,300 yds & 19 TDs in Seaman's quick-strike vertical passing game; Ketter is a strong-armed passer with seamless pocket mechanics & footwork, great ball placement & throws the long bomb with a nice touch; last fall he passed for 2,000+ yards in 8 games & rifled 23 TD passes to only six picks; Barta is a dangerous WR with a great catch radius & speed to burn on the deep routes; he also has next-level measurables (4.5 40, 36" VJ, 10'2 BJ + 38 receptions for 642 yds & 10 TDs); Brown is a dynamic receiver usually split opposite to force secondary mismatches & is lethal after the catch; he also had an explosive 10'6 BJ this summer & is starting to see the offers roll in. These guys are going to be one of the top air attacks in the state this fall. Keep grindin' gents 👊 @coy_barta @caleketter @JDBrown1208
Accurate statement.
"There are very few cornerbacks that can go one-on-one with Coy Barta, and I think we're gonna see that this fall." 🏈👀
