I feel like more people now are so quick to turn on somebody with mental illnesses the moment the ugly starts showing through the cracks. It’s not encouraging to feel like you have a support system when those people would be inclined to leave you in the dirt at your worst.

Bpd is more then just crashouts. It’s a lot of silent lonely suffering, beating yourself up over things from years ago, not letting yourself get close to people etc. We need help but we need understanding too, we didn’t ask for intense emotional mood swings.
also i'm not saying people should excuse bad behavior or that people with bpd shouldn't take accountability, but i'm BEGGING y'all to understand that there's nuance and that people with bpd are unwell. this mental illness insanely painful to live with and navigate
the way people villianize bpd and dismiss breakdowns as being manipulative or attention seeking is a huge part of why so many of us with this disorder kill ourselves or try to. the world loves to kick mentally ill people when they're down
