Replacing a Honeywell VisionPRO IAQ with an ecobee isn’t a normal thermostat swap. The hidden EIM changes everything. I documented the wiring, configuration, testing, and setup: absent.org/replace-honeywell…
Inspired by @DanielLockyer, today I chose violence. I let @ChatGPT walk me through replacing a proprietary Honeywell thermostat system with an @Ecobee Smart Thermostat Enhanced that I got for free from @nwnatural That meant: • bypassing the Honeywell EIM 💀 • rewiring the furnace control board • reconnecting the outdoor condenser • testing every stage (heat, A/C, fan) I labeled everything and double-checked every step before making changes, but ChatGPT never led me astray. The actual wiring and installation process took 20 minutes. The system is now fully operational. 💪 I’ve been wanting to do this for YEARS. Today, AI made a project that felt well beyond my comfort zone approachable. AMA. Photos below. I did a temp job with some butt connectors, but have some proper Wago 221 connectors arriving Wednesday.

I don’t really use Windows much but I’d love to if it didn’t suck as much. Regardless, having all kinds of fun having an agent go through and turn it into a power user OS. Learning a bunch of new stuff along the way. More soon.

I’m not the most skilled hacker in the world, but I’ve been around, and bunches of what Ryan said on that episode sound fishy. Some of the surveillance TTPs were straight up bunk. It’s not worth arguing on the internet about, but I’m glad others’ BS detector went off. I was a big SRS fan in the earlier days, but I’m pretty turned off these days, with all the lizard people, demon possession, and proveably untrue conspiracy theories. But it seems lucrative to SR.

It happens, but on average (well, way more than average), I prefer agent reports. They’re usually well-written, thorough, and contain the needed information. I agree that the human lacking probably comes from not reading AND not writing, and people generally aren’t good at articulating their thoughts.

If you weren’t such an NPC you would have spent 30 seconds visiting their website where they explain why the village is there: there’s a need there (probably because of all the drugs) and the city collaborated with them. Direct link, on the off chance you can read: togethercalifornia.org/our-v… But yeah, get back to your porn, video games, and cluttering X up with NPC posts.

That's that particularly "spooky" sub, right? (My ASVAB was too high and I'm too hetero, so I went USAF.)

I guess I’m not the only one finding this sus.
Because of Cithulhu here, I'm actually thinking about going back and listening to parts of the episode. IIRC the Tor attack he covers, it wasn't possible after the .onion v2 and pretty much everyone switched to Onion v3 in Jan 2018. I remember some of his other methods not making sense to me either.

Everyone gets those. It’s to see if the number is active at mass scale.

And yeah, I know it's an active feature request in Mermaid. And I know the architecture type exists. Not the same.

Way cool, but it kills me that none of these libraries seems to have a good network topology (star?) algorithm for wide area networks.
This is Pele, my new rendering library for diagrams and charts, compatible with the latest Mermaid syntax. - 100-500× faster than mermaid.js - 6× smaller bundle - No dependencies - Easy to theme - Responsive to device width In pursuit of making Obsidian insanely fast and cohesively designed, I always found the Mermaid library to be too big, too slow, and too hard to theme. Pele will be the new renderer in the next version of Obsidian, but you can start using it now. Pele [ˈpɛlɛ] is named after the goddess of volcanoes and fire. It's open source under the MIT license. Try the playground!

New: I got a tip a little while ago about a shadowy Pentagon entity called "TSO" with a lot of money and a desire for offensive hacking tools. Turns out TSO is a new DoD agency. And it does a lot more than hacking. w/@JackDetsch and @paulmcleary politico.com/news/2026/10/22…
