I rarely use it directly on it's own. Mostly through ssh, and if needed screen sharing from my macbook. I use Tailscale to connect to it when not at home, but I don't do that a lot. I just have a ssh connection in claude, and a bunch of scripts that run things on it over ssh.

I have this and it's really nice. Claude can do ssh sessions, so I control it using my laptop. I also make all tests and builds run on the mini. Cloud is also nice, but if you make apps, it's quite nice that it can run a simulator.

Why is everyone talking about the audit? All the auditor does is verify that you do what you say in your policies. The real requirements are set by your clients who might be chill about it, or make a big deal out of it, that really depends on your clients are.

In theory, but that very much depends on what clients you have and what their requirements are. The purpose of doing soc2 is to avoid the endless compliance dance for every client. If you don't follow their basic expectations they are still going to make your life difficult.

We run a bunch of CI stuff on modal.com, it's cheaper and much faster than gh actions, actual decent machines. With the $30/month free credits I bet you can get quite far. We use a similar setup to this github.com/modal-labs/ci-on-…

Cloudflare. Vercel is fun until you need to pay up for basic features.

There is a difference between hearing someone out and still going a different direction vs just deciding without input. If you have decent arguments for the first, usually people have no issue with it. The second one is where you loose trust.

💯 Radix is the actual game changer. There have been "neutral" composable components before, but Radix really got the model right.

You read over the "global fraud" part?

Fun fact, my supabase databases were all online and functional. I could connect directly and query no problem. The api's and auth were all down, but it seems our databases are properly hydrated and energized 👍

Without checking his profile: Does this guy only sell books, and/or do workshops and teaching?

Don’t just take their word at face value though, you often have to look for the problem behind the (feature) request. Truly understand and solve their problem even if that means a different solution than they might ask for.

You should thank them for the endless engagement farming opportunities

I assume you are referring to aws and the like? I would agree, those have the same problem. Services like Railway, Modal, Supabase, Fly, Vercel etc do not afaik. We use Supabase and Modal, can confirm they are amazing and worth the small premium on the resources.
