Rajiv Menon is one of the many brilliant and principled lawyers who have represented #spycops survivors over the years, and continue to defend those taking action now to make the world a better place.
We stand in solidarity with him.
‘The attack on Rajiv Menon is an attack on us all’: 140 lawyers, trade unionists & campaigners met in London to support the barrister who faces up to two years in prison over his closing speech in trial of six Palestine Action protesters. Photo: Jess Hurd thejusticegap.com/the-attack…
Another MP who has signed the Early Day Motion in support of #spycops survivors this week - thank you for standing up for the truth @grahamemorris !
Thanks to @grahamemorris MP for #Easington, who signed #EDM811 in recognition of the vital importance to survivors of truth, accountability and answers, acknowledging that the work of the #spycops inquiry is far from complete .
What about your MP?

Even his former employers, the @metpoliceuk, accept that sex pest Tory Andy Coles entered into a deceitful sexual relationship with a much younger activist, @Jessica_me2, during his #spycops deployment.
He is still denying it, despite multiple witnesses.

It's not just Bob Lambert, who we agree should have been stripped of his MBE years ago.
There's also Trevor Charles Butler OBE, aka 'HN307' (deployed in the 1970s; still utterly unrepentant in 2022 for the way the #spycops abused their powers)

It's interesting to note that they're STILL writing back to concerned constituents now to say that the Govt plans to announce the outcome of the consultation in "autumn 2026".
Doesn't autumn end soon? At the very latest, does this mean we'll hear by the end of November?
#spycops
Having seen how the Met's treatment of the @out_of_lives women has in many ways compounded the trauma they've suffered (due to the #spycops grooming gangs' sexual abuses) it comes as no surprise to hear that they've been similarly insensitive in this case:

Thanks to @AyoubKhanM, representing #Birmingham #Perry #Barr, who has signed #EDM811 to stand with survivors and protect the #spycops inquiry from state interference.

Infamous #spycops officer Mark Kennedy targeted a coop in Leeds on the basis of lies, but MP Fabian Hamilton (@FabianLeedsNE) has not yet signed #EDM811 to support the work of the inquiry tasked with getting to the truth.

The #Spycops Inquiry has revealed many more police abuses than anticipated, but it is now under threat due to delays & spiralling costs caused by excessive police demands for secrecy. It is critical that the Inquiry continues & examines more recent abuses

Andy Coles was one of the #spycops who infiltrated the anarchist scene in Brixton and the 121 Centre, as covered in detail in this post

New #Spycops documentary on former Tory councillor Andy Coles. In early 90s he was a married 32 year old cop infiltrating animal rights campaigns when he exploited ‘Jessica’, then a teenage activist, for sex and cover. His actions were an abuse of power.

Many thanks to @NadiaWhittome, MP for #Nottingham East, who tabled #EDM811 to draw attention to the importance of continuing to investigate the wrongdoings of #spycops units through the Undercover Policing Inquiry.

This NEW interview with the #spycops abuser, Andy Coles is reminiscent of the @maitlis interview with Prince Andrew. Despite the desperate attempt to appear honest & credible, Coles’s creepiness & lies shine through. All love & solidarity with @Jessica_me2
Out tomorrow, new short doc about #spycops sex-pest, Andy Coles who abused our very own National Treasure @Jessica_me2. We haven't seen this yet so can't comment on the representation of this abusive, lying bastard but will comment further in due course.

Andy Coles' #spycops past was exposed by his brother @RevRichardCole9
-also infamous for dishonesty, in his case pretending to be HIV positive-
who has since sought to make light of this state-sanctioned rape, using it as a jokey anecdote for #TheLastLeg viewers.

Watch disgraced former undercover Andy Coles struggle to convince anyone that he is not lying - multiple people have come forward to give evidence about his sex-pest behaviour and the way he abused the human rights of then-teenage @Jessica_me2

I've personally quote tagged every single MP able to sign Early Day Motion 811 in support of the #spycops inquiry (and some who are not eligible), almost 500 in total.
So far, only 31 have signed, and not even one from the party that actually initiated the Inquiry! Disgusting.
Now that your Member of Parliament is officially 'back at work', why not ask them what they're doing to ensure justice for #spycops survivors?
One way they can help is by signing up to support the Early Day Motion - check ucpi.uk/consultation/edm811.… to see if they've already done so!

A culture of impunity and #institutionalsexism is rife in police forces across the UK
We see that yet another force has found itself having to formally apologise and compensate women for covering up years of sexual violence, abuse & misogyny.

Meanwhile, in Scotland, dozens of police officers are currently suspended (presumably on full pay?) but most have never faced prosecution:
