How long before @JohnLewisRetail pull this travesty?
🚨BREAKING: The John Lewis Christmas Advert 2026 has become one of the worst reviewed in the stores history
The comments on YouTube have been TURNED OFF
There are currently 5 times the dislikes as there are likes
The Plot:
- Entitled children ignore their Grandmother, won't even hug her
- She tries to give them nice, simple, meaningful toys to play with, they ignore her
- She goes to John Lewis to buy expensive toys
- The kids now love her
It's an awful message featuring a diverse family as always

It appears the John Lewis foray into dementia, feral kids and anti-social pedicab drivers can't even win over the normally genteel and forgiving Guardian...

Read the replies to this and it's fairly clear the @JohnLewisRetail Xmas advert isn't pulling the usual heartstrings.

Well family's opinion of the new "chuck in load of adverts even though you pay @NetflixUK" is that it's a pile of 💩💩💩💩
😂😂😂😂
On the bright side, it does mean I can dump it without upsetting the family when I next change my TV package.
Reform have 8 MPs in Westminster. Not 80, not even 18, just 8 but for some reason @BBCNewsnight @bbcquestiontime @BBCNews insist on giving them as much free publicity as possible.
"It's obviously a really worrying time. 12,000 people, it's a shop we're all familiar with."

I'm sure he'll do very well on the "I'm a Celeb" / Netflix Docu circuit but I wonder how his son feels knowing his old man couldn't be bothered to be there for him.

I'm sure Golding thinks this is a clarion call to fellow racists to support the cause but to decent people it looks more like @UKLabour doing a good job.

A mouthpiece from GB News, the propaganda wing of Reform, is called out by police for bull💩 around Trick or Treat.
Real poster from Buckinghamshire Council and Thames Valley police.
Police have issued a warning to the public that Halloween can upset "religious or cultural beliefs" ahead of the celebrations this weekend.
I’m so tired of all this crap.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The poster is a standard "no trick or treat" notice from Thames Valley Police and Buckinghamshire Council for residents (esp. elderly/vulnerable) who do not want unexpected callers. It contains no mention of Halloween upsetting religious or cultural beliefs.

Trick or Treat, in the UK, started in 1980s. Why do "some people" struggle with the truth? 🤔🤔🤔
If you don’t want to take part in Halloween, don’t answer the front door or decorate your house. It’s that simple.
This is a tradition that goes back hundreds of years in Britain, most importantly it’s for kids! The need to design posters or have the police and councils issue statements is batshit left wing nonsense.
It’s funny that the far-left defending this woke rubbish are the same groups that scream “globalise the intifada”, grind cities to a halt, constantly intimidate the public, defend police being attacked with a sledgehammer all for “Gaza”. The same people who think riots in France are justified. The same people who think dog walking in the countryside should be banned.
It’s one night a year, it’s for kids, it’s our tradition, leave it alone. The vast majority of the British public think this kind of stuff is pathetic and a waste of authorities’ time and resources.
Police forces and councils should get off social media, stop wasting time and money (which they are desperately short of) and actually do the job they are paid for.
