Here's a stat that breaks most people's mental model of #Bitcoin: its volatility is now lower than most of the Magnificent 7. The "too volatile for serious money" objection, the one every allocator has used for a decade, is quietly expiring. Eric Yakes came on to explain what that unlocks. @ericyakes wrote "Bitcoin and the Monetary Revolution" and invests at Epoch in fintech companies built around Bitcoin adoption. His frame for where demand comes from: "More and more people are gonna want to get exposure to the scarcest, most liquid commodity that you can hold on a thumb drive and move anywhere in the world." What I appreciated: he refuses the lazy bull case. No power laws, no cycle charts, he judges Bitcoin on fundamentals and adoption, and his argument is that every major move up had a concrete driver. BlackRock's ETF started the last one. He thinks he knows what starts the next. Thanks to @OKX for being todays sponsor of the show. We cover: - The volatility stat, and why it changes who's allowed to own Bitcoin - How banks could start accepting Bitcoin as loan collateral, the quiet unlock almost nobody's pricing - What actually drove price last cycle, and the next fundamental driver - How the debasement trade connects Bitcoin and gold - Why he ignores power laws entirely, and what he watches instead - What he wants to see built in Bitcoin fintech Timestamps: 00:00 - Intro 01:00 - Navigating the Crypto Landscape 03:46 - Bitcoin and the Monetary Revolution 11:00 - Bitcoin's Challenges and Opportunities 18:51 - Bitcoin in Banking 28:32 - Regulation and the Clarity Act 32:45 - Stablecoins and Government Debt 35:42 - Debt Dynamics and Bitcoin 40:09 - Bitcoin as a Scarce Asset 43:18 - ETFs and Bitcoin Adoption 47:27 - Investing in the AI Landscape 53:21 - The Future of Bitcoin

Insane scenes at the FED Meeting. They have kept rates unchanged, there are no rate hikes.
BREAKING: The Federal Reserve officially pauses interest rate hikes, leaving interest rates unchanged at their October meeting.

Classic movements prior to the FOMC on #Bitcoin. Slight rally upwards, immediate sell-off as markets continue to go risk-off. No flip of the bullish structure, yet, meaning, that there's nothing to cheer about and we'll proceed by chopping around. What am I looking at on the lower timeframes? I'm monitoring whether we are going to be holding the $80,000 level for support tonight. If that fails, we'll go towards the marked area for potential deeper corrections. If it does, and it flips back above this area (most likely $81,000), I'm turning bullish and we can cheer on for the next quarter.

“#Bitcoin is a, you know, multi-trillion dollar asset that is permissionless. You can send it anywhere in the world without asking anybody for permission. Um, you can hold it on a thumb drive and you can hold billions of dollars doing that.” I agree on this thesis, and it's the only asset that's out there that has these metrics. That's why I also think that Bitcoin has become the best AI trade out there. There's no reason to be bearish on Bitcoin at all, and there are numerous of arguments to be super bullish on Bitcoin for the foreseeable future, as more and more people will pick up this thesis. Great conversation with @ericyakes on @new_era_finance.

It's funny that most of the markets align on a further correction to happen. However, when I'm monitoring the charts. - #Bitcoin sweeps the most important low and bounces back immediately. - #Altcoins have seen important lows being swept If those aren't holding, then yes, there will be a fast acceleration downwards. On the other hand, if it does hold here, we're ending the correction and starting up a new uptrend. Given that social media gives so much emphasis to the FOMC and expects it to be bearish to the markets (while last time we've had a strong rally straight after FOMC), I don't see a reason why we should be betting on further downside. I remain fully allocated.

The first level was hit and we're breaking upwards for $ETH. That's a strong move, and there's no confirmation of a bullish breakout yet, but the build-up starts to get there. Much rather than thinking that we're going to see another drop, the markets are at the most optimal sweet spot to hold and turn back upwards.
#Ethereum is at an interesting spot. There are multiple levels that this could hold onto. The most obvious and best entry zone is beneath the recent low, of course. I'd be max bidding everything beneath $2,300 as then I think that we'll reverse quite quickly. From a trading standpoint, it's also at a level of support as we speak for some scalp trades. What's next after this correction? Indeed, new highs.

Absolute insanity in Dutch Parliament. A Dutch member of Parliament states that it would be a wise idea to 'invite an Anthropic size company to the Netherlands to IPO here, so we can control their AI models and tax them here.' Absolutely lunatics in the government.

#Bitcoin is doing what it needs to be doing in order to be getting a bullish breakout. It's still prior to FOMC. However, usually with these type of events, you'll see that there's a bottom on Tuesday, and then we start to grind upwards. Bullish flip has happened, and as long as $80,500-80,800 holds, the markets can continue to run upwards. I wouldn't be surprised if this runs to $82,200-82,500.

There seems to be a consensus that #Crypto won't be crypto anymore, as everything transitions into finance and the 'old' crypto is gone. Perhaps. Atleast there's a strong institutional bid in the markets, through which there's a different appetite. The difference: the markets require larger buyers to move the markets (institutions). That doesn't mean that we won't be having any strong #Altcoin runs at all. Didn't we have $ZEC? Didn't we have $HYPE? Narratives come and go. The stronger the consensus will become on crypto, the stronger the product-market fit will be and the heavier the growth models will show that there's interest into these products, the heavier the sentiment will flip. And then we'll have our runs again. We'll be seeing heavily overvalued #Altcoins. We'll see new narratives with zero value accrual do absolutely phenomenal again. Just purely hype. Onchain will start to wake up again. It won't change. Right now is just not the time as markets aren't ready for it yet.

The sentiment has hit a record-low again on #Bitcoin and #Altcoins. Isn't that what you're waiting for when you're not in the markets? Wouldn't you rather be buying in when there's literally nobody interested into the asset? That tells you that you're getting the best offer possible on the markets. Every time the markets are turning around, it goes quickly and it doesn't provide you an 'easy' opportunity. Much rather, when sentiment turns around, you're in the same trade as everyone else and your risk has increased enormously. I would use the opportunity, right now, to be using it.

If there's an area where $TAO should hold, it would be this area. If this doesn't hold, we're likely seeing <$200 again. I don't think that's likely happening in the current market momentum. It swept the recent low, held there, consolidates here, and is likely flipping the trend back up again.
The markets are looking for the most obvious level for liquidity, atleast, after this recent push upwards. That's what I'm seeing on many #Altcoins currently, with $TAO being one of them. The build-up is getting into a stage that, once we've hit that level of liquidity where literally every long has been taken out, the reversal upwards is likely going to be a fast one. I'm looking at the recent low of $TAO beneath $249. That should be taken out and then we're likely going to see it run back upwards.

There's even more strength on $HYPE. The moment the markets are turning around, you want to monitor the strongest assets. They'll be bouncing stronger, and that's what $HYPE is doing. If history repeats itself, we're running towards $110-120 in the coming months.
I'm looking at a potentially bullish chart for $HYPE. It's all depending on whether #Bitcoin finds itself in a bottom around this area or not. However, if it does, $HYPE might repeat its pattern. It made a sweep of the low in August, and looks like we're doing the same here at <$75 in October. If this does hold, we're looking at a push to $110-120 in the coming few months. If it doesn't, I'm looking at longs <$68 and best case even $60.

I'm using @OKX as my primary exchange, as they tick all the boxes. In the Netherlands, we've just had a case of Knaken, a relatively small exchange using client funds to pay of bills. They went bankrupt and investors lost more than €10 million in funds. If I want to store my assets safely, and trade futures safely, I want to do this at a MiCA compliant exchange. Additionally, they have build OKX Shield, which is a safety net in case something unusual happens to anyone's account. Finally, they have a strong fee structure, and they are providing strong deposit bonuses and cashbacks on their OKX Card. Everything in one. Sign-up today and make sure to hold your assets in a safe exchange just before the bull-run in #Bitcoin and #Altcoins start: my.okx.com/nl/join/73357915

#Bitcoin is at a pivotal spot. It simply doesn't like to continue falling down, which I strongly advocate for. The recent sentiment has only fueled the thesis that we're on edge of having a strong breakout upwards. If it flips $81,000, we're good to go towards new highs.
