We are excited that our work describing microglia cannibalism is now officially in press! journals.plos.org/plosbiolog…
Stay tuned because we are on to the genetic mechanisms! 😀
So inspiring to hear @LiddelowSA talk at @NDBios! You meet a lot of people in science, but occasionally one becomes your friend. Watching them excel is easily one of the highlights!
Thanks for the visit, capped by dinner with @alfmireles, @Katrina_L_Adams!

I can usually separate dream from reality by asking the PO if “in zebrafish” was discussed.
Yes, I am also confused why the DRG glia would respond to mechanical force but nonetheless find the discovery fascinating. And it gives me an opportunity to use Star Wars references in a paper!Congrats to Jake!
Using Jedi and Yoda (piezo1 agonists) manipulations, his results are consistent with the idea of Jedi and Yoda dependent (mechanical) force sensing in DRG glia.
To our amazement, after the recovery phase of our injury paradigm, the CNS was covered with non-pu1 microglia. I often use these slides to demonstrate these moments in science. We continued through the cloud.
Visiting @UUtah to learn new technique with @Ph_Dana_ and @sparvez21. Of all the campuses I have been to, this one takes it for beautiful scenery.
I debated commenting on this figure. Unfortunately, many of us working with certain model organisms consistently receive reviews with the underlining theme that what we discover is not as relevant as other systems. At least this figure was explicit about its bias.
The path of axons are so precise, how do they do that? Check out our new publication and cover to find our addition to that question.

Today we celebrate #WomenInScience! I am grateful to work everyday with exceptional scientists in my lab like Lauren Green, Nina Kikel-Coury, Camden Hoover and Dana DeSantis!
