Claude Code tip: if a task turns out harder than you expected, type ultrathink while Claude is working. It raises the effort for the rest of that turn. In the terminal on the latest release.
ultrathink is back in the CC CLI. We turned this off for a while because it's weird and maybe confusing. But I like weird, and I don't think it's that confusing. I mostly run Opus 5.5 on medium. Some turns, though, I want to put a little extra mustard on it. ultrathink!

Indeed job postings: 1/ Software development postings are rocketing upward: Y/Y growth of almost 25%. At that pace we're about a year away from pre-COVID levels (we're recovering from a deep depression in this category).

I am surprised that people are surprised this is how I prompt Claude. Talk to Claude the way you would a coworker. There's no secret to prompting. There's no need to be overly scaffolded or prescriptive for most tasks -- give Claude a goal, and it will figure it out. Back in the Sonnet 3.5 days, your prompt mattered a lot. Nowadays, it's much more important to communicate to the model: 1. What you want it to do 2. How much effort you want it to spend 3. How it should verify that it did the right thing

What i love about Anthropic, they will never take the easy route and just hand users free usage and brag about it. They choose the hard route: make a better, cheaper model and win. As a user that's waay better then just getting free usage for few hours.
Glad Claude limits feel different! The lower Opus 5.5 price goes straight into your limits. They go about 25% further than Opus 5. Cache reads cost 60% less and output is generated 30% faster: claude.dev/blog/what-a-task-…

Tools like Jira are bureaucracy-management tools, not Agile tools. You don't need a backlog at all to get work done—a handful of index cards or stickies work just fine, and more than a couple of weeks' work in that pile is too much. I've worked with no backlog at all—feedback from the current thing told me what to do next. Huge backlogs and the tools required to support them are phase-gated (waterfall) up-front planning. Jira manages that bureaucratic planning system. If you need tools like that, the odds are that you're not working with agility—where we adapt what we're working on to incorporate lessons learned as we work—at all. No shop that works with any agility has the level of bureaucracy that requires tools like Jira.

Programming and Coding were once separate jobs. Programmers handed the design to coders who turned the program design into code. Coding is dead, long live programming.

Underrated life advice: Just be easy to work with. Show up on time. Do what you said you'd do. Bring solutions, not problems. Never create drama. Be responsive. Be emotionally consistent. Be kind. People will always want to support someone who just makes their life easier.
