The NHS cannot be privatised but to save it, it might need to follow the French healthcare system (Assurance Maladie) Government covers ~70%of the bill and ~30% is covered by private insurance (most firms offer this to their staff), so all in all, you are fully covered.

None If you contribute for 10 years, you will get the state pension no matter where you are (partial amount because you need to contribute for 35years to get the full amount) Same with private pension - when it is time, you get 25% and the rest spread monthly

I won’t say lazy, i will say ease, even if it will come at a small cost. As someone who helps in visa applications, it will take me less than 1hr to gather the documents you will need for your biometrics whereas it will take you hours or days to do that.

My theory is that “visa agent” is a thing here cos we Nigerians are too lazy to research and the application ourselves. What do you mean 450k for Morocco E-visa, that thing takes about 10mins to complete and 24-48hours to get the visa.

Some mosques issue marriage certificates for 2 or 3 wives and it’s just a formality & not legal.. the same way Sharia system exists but not legal in the UK. Then again, the UK is a Christian country & needs to put its foot on the ground on some issues.

The UK is an outlier in people having 2 or 3 year mortgage products (and getting hit with a £1k fee every time they remortgage) I have a 30 year fix I will always know what my monthly payment is and therefore pay no attention to interest rates

7/10 My investments changed with my life. When younger, I was almost entirely in shares. Now that my portfolio can support my family’s lifestyle, preservation matters more. I keep at least half in T-bills and bonds, with the rest in equities. My needs changed. My allocation did too.

My hairstylist here charges me £80–£100 for braids and £40 for all-back. That was why I used to get my hair done once a year. Recently, a new lady who just relocated here to study started making braids for £40-50 and all-back for £15. Omo, that was how almost 10 people around me and I started patronising her. Guess what? In the 2 months since I met her, I’ve made my hair TWICE My former hairstylist saw me in the city centre yesterday and pretended not to see me because I patronised someone else. Na she sabi oh Even if this new girl raises her prices tomorrow, I won’t stop patronising her because she’s good and I’ve benefited from her previously affordable prices. ❤️
