Add lucas Da cunha and I might believe you. But that midfield will still be too short for my liking.

🚨🔴 BREAKING: Liverpool have reached full personal terms agreement with AS Monaco’s Camara, as reported!
Club-to-club talks are advanced. Liverpool want to wrap it up quickly, following the Gakpo approach, to allow early integration.
More to follow… 👀

For some of us it was very quickly obvious from the season before when Trent wasnt playing towards the latter end and the coach kept trying midfielders at right back and different midfield combinations. The signs were there when he wanted a metronome in zubimendi.
This is actually the revisionism. He tried so many changes and tweaks. 😂😂😂
Slot actually won the league with his own ideas. He encouraged the team to hold the ball more and invite the press and beat it. Teams stopped taking the bait and started going deeper. He anticipated it and brought wirtz but we had lost Trent and luis diaz. Also, JOTA DIED!
Klopp inherited the weakest squad of the three and built Liverpool into title contenders from scratch.
Slot inherited a ready-made squad and won the title without removing Klopp's DNA. Then he brought in his own philosophy and his own players, and the club backed his vision like no one before. It failed badly.
Iraola's situation is bizarre. He's inherited the expensive signings who didn't fire under Slot, and players like Gravenberch and Szoboszlai on big new contracts who still haven't found their feet in his system. There are gaping holes in the squad on top of that.
Worse, he's expected to fix it almost immediately, because he has "expensive players" and a better squad than Klopp ever started with.
Under Slot, these players were outrun week in, week out. Iraola's whole game is built on outrunning the opposition. He's being asked to wave a magic wand, shake them out of last season's slumber, and turn us into world-beaters overnight
I find these Slot vs Iraola comparisons funny. Teams stopped pressing us under Slot because we played through them. Teams press us now because we can't build up properly. My point, Slot's problems are not Iraola's problems.
I'm not too concerned about today or this season. I'm more concerned about:
1. Sporting director stability
2. Getting better passers and ball winners in midfield
3. Iraola improving in possession tactics going forward.
We're at least 2 years from competing.
The problem originates from the midfield recruitment schmadtke and Klopp did. In terms of ball, progression and chance creation their hands were held by TAA and Salah. Klopp built a great team and then we just went about replacing every part with duds that dont fit.
Crossing is going to be our main chance creation method then we are cross from bad positions and we are not practicing them enough in training.
The one thing I definitely don't want to see when we are chasing a game is Lewis Koumas coming on. I don't want to see that.
