Like so many companies we postponed our Christmas Party to help keep colleagues safe. We are delighted to be able to donate all the food to @TheBrickWigan which is an amazing charity supporting those in need in Wigan. #Wigan #Christmas #food #charity

A huge thank you @RTPhillips1 who joined our @ToteRacing team this morning to talk all about #NationalRacehorseWeek and share his insights on the incredible care that goes into looking after racehorses 24/7 throughout the year. 🏇🏇🏇

Since relaunching the Tote in 2019, we’re proud to have grown our outstanding team to over 150. From our Wigan HQ, we’ve been taking steps to nurture talent, hiring and developing the skills of our excellent team, as well as bringing on board software developer apprentices.

Our ownership group is made up of 160 individual investors. The vast majority of this group are racehorse owners and breeders, meaning we’re backed by people who care deeply about the sport and want to see the Tote reinvest into horseracing. 🏇

We’re proud of the Tote’s history, and became its latest custodians in 2019 with a mission to return it to its founding principles while innovating for the future.

The Welcome to Yorkshire Ebor Festival @yorkracecourse will host World Pool for first time. 🏇🌏 This means larger and deeper pools, differentiated pricing, and the opportunity for unequalled value for @ToteRacing customers.

It's so frustrating seeing C# snippets in documentation that does "SomeMethodAsync().Result" instead of just awaiting it. A lot of people will blindly just follow this, thinking this is right.

PR comments should help improving the code, and not blame someone. ✔ "The method name does not represent its meaning. Maybe the name 'X' can be more meaningful." ❌ "YOU should choose a better name." Explain WHY you propose a change, and offer a possible solution. #devtip

You don't need Jira or any other task-management software if your team is working truly collaboratively. 3/3

People don't get necessary help because everybody else is heads down on _their_ tasks. The isolated-individual model just doesn't work well enough. Investigate mob/ensemble/collaborative programming. 2/3

Tasks in Jira are evil. Subtasks are worse. Don't assign tasks, work collaboratively. Assigning tasks to people is out and out dysfunction, and holding people responsible for tasks is destructive of the team. 1/3

This whole "good workman never blames his tools" saying is a load of crap. Having good tools massively improves the quality of your work
