This is my favorite time of year where families with young kids get a little sick for 7 straight months.

We asked GPT-6 Astra to edit Qwen3.5-0.8B weights to improve math. It directly changed only 0.016% of weights, fixing 0.8B's reasoning loops & improving math up to 6x and even instruction following 3x, without gradients or training. We call this Weight-Space Programming: frontier LLMs can now natively read/write neural network weights! 🧵 Blog: rikiyat.github.io/blog/weigh…
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
LLM was given weights explicitly as text in prompt and used code/forward passes (per authors' logs) to ablate Qwen looping direction, a known thinking-mode issue per model card. Primarily fixed repetition in that mode, not general 'natively' improving weights/math. rikiyat.github.io/blog/weight-sp… github.com/RikiyaT/lm_und… huggingface.co/Qwen/Qwen3.5-0… huggingface.co/RikiyaT/Qwen3.…

Great line from the CTO of Proton. I’m paraphrasing and stealing it : Your job is not to use agents to help you write code. Your job is to lead the agents to help them write code.

“Your job has fundamentally changed. It is no longer to write code, and LLMs are not here to help you write better code faster. Your job is to help the LLM write better code faster.” Bingo.

This is what dev is becoming. A small team spending millions on tokens, shipping 1000’s of features a month, auto-fixing issues, self-directing, and remembering lessons learned along the way.

There is just no good way to bring that news. The old times are not coming back. I don't envy anyone though who has a workforce who is not on board with the changing times. teapawt.org/steipete/status/211612…
Bullish on Andy Yen and Proton. He gets it. The culture war, or rather the loss of identity some engineers feel as AI redefines our jobs is difficult; I sympathize. Also understand that he runs a business and might has limited patience when we now had two years to process, learn, change and grow.

By the time people like you are sending tweets like this, it’s too late. You’re part of the opening credits montage of the disaster movie.

My wife came up to me exhausted "Can you put the baby to bed?" I pulled out my iPad No calendar invite. No task assigned to me in our family ERP system. No status report flagged in Microsoft Teams. "This doesn't fit into my current workflow. Your lack of planning isn't my emergency." I went right back to arranging my contacts in the CRM and pushing forward organizational goals to generate value for shareholders
