I have just released Nuade that is a port of UADE where each player has been written in C. github.com/emoon/nuade/tree/… Motivations:
• Understanding the formats. Many of the formats are undocumented. Readable C code makes it much easier to see how they work.
• Pattern/note displays and extra metadata. With the player state in plain C structs, a front end can show patterns, notes, instruments and other information about a song.
• Editors. Writing an editor on top of C code is far easier than doing it with assembly.
• Better output quality. For some synth-based formats, the C version can produce higher-quality output than the original.
Majority of the work has been done using AI agents.

Omarchy is installed and running on the M4 MacBook Air, fully. Working out a few kinks I’m finding and then opening up the repo.

I'm looking into using either @bot or @NousResearch (i.e Hermes Agent) for some automation with various tasks + some coding as well perhaps. I have my own server so running a local instance of Hermes wouldn't be an issue. pros / cons between these two choices?
Thrilled to welcome @spacexai as a Founding Corporate Patron for the Omacom Foundation. That's $1,500,000 in @grok tokens for the maintenance and development of Omarchy. Maybe soon they'll be beamed straight from orbit? Let's go 🚀🌕 omarchy.org/news/2026/10/spa…
Testing out @t3dotcodes Ok... I think I will go back to CC again🙂
One of the legends of the Amiga demoscene: Mr Pet has passed away. He did coding for some classic demos such demozoo.org/productions/5784 and demozoo.org/productions/9014
RIP🪦
I have released a new library for Rust called retro-image github.com/emoon/retro-image It allows you to load around 600 different formats spanning Amiga, Atari, C64, Spectrum, etc. Full format list here: github.com/emoon/retro-image… Zero external dependencies.
I played around with this during the weekend xitter.cf/trycua/status/21034986… Can highly recommend if you have something (UI related) running in the background and still want to be able to use your machine🙂
1/ Today we're announcing the stable Cua Driver release for Omarchy - a new foundation for computer use, built into the OS from the ground up.
Over the last month, we worked directly with @dhh, @SpencerGBull and @vaxryy to bring a native synthetic cursor to Omarchy's Hyprland compositor, enabling true multi-cursor computer use at the OS level.
Cua Driver is open source and available at github.com/trycua/cua
Very cool :)
In case you missed it, me and @gigabates did a little something, like 256 bytes little. #TTE

I'm working on a retro-image library and now support for flea file manager by @thisisgm The library supports around 500 different image formats for Amiga, Atari, C64, etc 🙂

Omarchy now has an official bug bounty program on HackerOne! The Omacom Foundation has funded it with $100,000 for bounties, and we've promoted @mdisec to Omarchy Core as our Head of Security. omarchy.org/news/2026/10/oma…
I find it hilarious that some people think there is some grand conspiracy to optimize a screensaver for fun 🤣
WIP but ~10.7x faster than the original Rust code and 1.25x faster than the asm version on average. Still written in Rust with AVX-512/AVX2/SSE2/Neon opts github.com/omacom/ttfx/pull/…
I very much enjoy these technical breakdowns. Thanks for doing them.
A technical look at this #Commodore64 demo "Viva Las Vegas" where we have overscan bitmaps, AGSP scrolling bitmap with flips, hires colourful sprites, and animations with sprite overlays.
