The President of Cornell University has released a letter addressing the group sexual assault that took place at one of their fraternities in 2024:
“I am deeply sorry for the harm Jane Doe suffered in 2024, and appalled that this act of sexual violence occurred within our Cornell community. It is clear that women on our campus continue to question whether they are safe. We must meet this moment by acknowledging where we have fallen short and taking meaningful action. I have spent the past weeks listening to students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, and trustees, who have shared their feelings of deep connection and sympathy with Jane Doe, anger and frustration that this could happen at Cornell, and outrage at the broader prevalence of sexual violence against women in our society.”

I am not seeing this case receive anywhere near the same media coverage as the Cornell 7 despite the situations being extremely similar. This is why I have said we cannot pick and choose what cases make us outraged. All victims deserve justice and deserves the same amount of support.

Cornell fraternity brothers have a different account of the "rape case."
Gillio Lopes alleges Jane Doe sexually assaulted him, initiating contact without consent.
The Cornell Sun doxxed Lopes as a rapist.
Winston Lee also says Doe initiated unwanted contact.
Lee later asked to join sexual activity, cautioning Doe that she could leave, before Lee claims that Doe affirmed everyone was "consenting adults."
Scott Kretzschmar said he was "befuddled" reading Jonathan Newell's message, with Scott Norris adding that he was "concerned."
Kretzschmar and Norris said that Doe was conscious and coherent, Doe says that the pair were "voyeurs" more than anything.
The Cornell Sun doxxed them both as rapists.
Diego Sarabia, who has lost his job at Wells Fargo because of the affair, said he was "concerned" when he walked in, but Doe assured him the orgy was "normal in medieval times."
