Today @SlevinKate joined @GovSherrillNJ @NJTRANSIT @AlstomUSA to see new train cars for the fleet.
The new trains are made in Plattsburgh, are more energy efficient, and will save NJTRANSIT $$$. A win for the region!
It was a pleasure to spend the morning celebrating the delivery of the first brand new Multilevel III commuter rail car to NJ Transit. More reliable transit is the backbone of affordability and the ability for the New Jersey economy to continue to thrive.
For too long, NJ TRANSIT riders have been promised change.
Today, we start delivering the results they deserve – with the introduction of 40 new railcars, 250 new buses, and 30 new accessible vehicles for NJ Transit.
This is a first step toward fully replacing NJ TRANSIT’s entire fleet for the first time in history.
