I ask Rep. Haley Stevens, how can you support a candidate who stands in direct opposition to what you stand for?
“Nothing is perfect,” Stevens says before a heckler yells, “Stevens is a traitor,” which ended the press scrum.

I spoke with Haley Stevens yesterday.
Feeling a bit absurd in pointing out the obvious and being far kinder than I should have been, I reminded her that the outcome of this senate race will be viewed in the light of a future Supreme Court vacancy, and I expressed a hope that all of us understand the stakes.
She assured me she's supporting Dr. El-Sayed, sent me a video of a recent speech she gave blasting Mike Rogers and said this: "Still stands. I promise."
She also said she's been sending this video to other folks to make it clear where she stands on this race.
Again: that was yesterday.
I have known Haley Stevens for years. I have counted her as a friend and an ally. We've had many thoughtful conversations about this country, and she has never failed to remind me that her mother is a fan of my writing.
Whatever other political differences we have, she has always made it clear to me she would stand with LGBTQ people. It was a red line she refused to cross.
Instead, she has made the inexplicable decision to endorse a man who views LGBTQ Americans as second-class citizens unworthy of full equality.
I can't help but wonder what her mother must be thinking right now.
I have no idea what has happened to the person I thought I knew, but clearly, she has completely taken leave of her senses in endorsing a Republican who is little more than a Trump sycophant -- less than 24 hours after promising me that she has not wavered from the bigger picture.
I am disgusted with her cynicism and cowardice in this moment. God forgive me for trusting her.
If you're a Michigan voter and as disgusted as I am, get to your polling place and vote for Dr. El-Sayed.

She's done in Democratic politics. Wanna sit on your hands and not help after you lose a primary? Fine. It's not a great look, but it's your perogative. Go full heel turn and campaign with the other side 48 hours before Election Day? You're done. Over. Fuck all the way off.

Looks like the Michigan Democrats are disowning Haley Stevens over her endorsement of Mike Rogers.

Endless outrage over two Dan Sullivans—a political trick we’ve seen before and knew about a year ago.
Meanwhile, Trump’s administration paid nearly $500 MILLION for a Minnesota prison the state says it was offered for $75 million. The seller donated $500,000 to Trump’s inauguration.
Guess which story you’ve barely heard about.

Speaking of illegal:
A federal judge has now found twice that you are unlawfully serving as US Attorney — first as an actual one, then as a “de facto” one.
You are clinging to that position to spread election misinformation with a fake title of authority and try to disenfranchise thousands of people by claiming without evidence that they are noncitizens.
If you want to know why @GavinNewsom is behaving so bizarrely right now, it's because he's fighting overtime to count every illegal vote in the upcoming election. California admitted as much during the court proceedings in our case.
He fights for illegals and noncitizens, and has disdain for American citizens.

Mr Trump wavering on the edge of a terrible strategic mistake. The MidTerms may deliver a Democratic Congress in January. The US blockade has not collapsed the economy. 20,000 air sorties have not opened the Gulf. Trump now planning a three day renewed air war in November. It will be an escalation disaster.

How the hell did this Administration allow a 28-year-old DOGE operative with zero government experience to take over USAID, fire thousands of federal employees, and shut down lifesaving aid programs around the world?
Not to mention that HR had zero record of him working there, he never completed his background paperwork to legally start working for the agency, and he didn’t even have an ID badge, because, officially, he didn’t exist as an employee.
And yet, all on his own, this man was given the go ahead to lock staff out of their own systems and use your taxpayer dollars to gut lifesaving programs with zero transparency.
The Trump Administration owes the American people and Congress answers. Who signed off on this? Why on earth was he given this kind of power?
This wasn’t an accident. Someone handed this man unchecked power, someone knew he wasn’t legally authorized to use it, and someone decided that there was nothing wrong with that.
Well, everything is wrong with that. Congress needs answers about this, and that is NOT optional.

It takes a tremendous amount of chutzpah to brazenly lie that LA County “validated” the government’s voter fraud claims.
In fact, the County’s sampling that Essayli referred to here completely discredited them.
Here’s the alleged “validation.” storage.courtlistener.com/re…
Let me help you since you're either too lazy or dishonest to read our witness declarations.
Everyone on the list is a confirmed noncitizen.
We suspect they are all registered California voters based on the redacted voter list we obtained, requiring our own investigation to positively identify them.
Our list has been validated by LA County’s sample study of 200 names and by the criminal prosecutions we have brought and will continue to bring against the individuals on the list.
California could, but refuses to, provide the unredacted list, which would resolve this entire dispute in a matter of hours.

Two framing failures here:
Republicans deliberately let Obamacare subsidies lapse knowing this outcome would happen, but that reality makes the GOP look very bad so it’s omitted from the headline. The increases are just happening, without context of the deliberate policy drivers.
The increases will be felt hardest among middle class Americans, but the impact is framed first in political terms as a “blow to Obamacare,” emphasizing politics over policy impact to the American people.
The substance of the reporting by @ReedAbelson @sangerkatz is fair and clear, but editorial chose a headline that could very easily mislead the reader into thinking the program is just unworkable when deliberate Republican policy is weakening it.
It’s not just the @nytimes this is very common everywhere
"Republicans fuck up people's healthcare" is the reality, but the @nytimes wants you to think it's a failure of "Obamacare"
