Ontario’s ports are opening new agricultural markets 🚢 @LisaThompsonPC and I were at the Port of Goderich today to discuss their plans for expansion and how their positioning on Lake Huron can help connect Ontario agribusinesses to new markets - both domestically and globally. Handling over 5 million tonnes of cargo annually and supporting thousands of good jobs, the port plays an important role in growing Ontario’s economy, diversifying trade options, and strengthening our self-reliance.

Urea market has a decision to make. Ongoing Middle East fighting is devastating global supplies - bullish. Grain markets are getting destroyed - bearish. China is exporting more - bearish Other global production still hurting - bullish What a time to be alive...

Amid ongoing trade challenges, we’re keeping farmers equipped, competitive, and growing with increased investments in critical programs - reducing reliance on imported resources and supporting Ontario-made alternatives. Appreciated the conversation this morning with members of the Ontario Agricultural Commodity Council - covering a wide range of Ontario producers.

Beautiful morning kicking off #IPM2026 in Walkerton alongside @FordNation and caucus colleagues! 🚜🐄 Since 2018, Ontario has attracted over $5 billion in agri-food manufacturing investment, creating more than 22,000 jobs. We’ll continue to make Ontario the most competitive place to invest and grow while building a more secure, sovereign and self-reliant food supply.

Farmers are the backbone of our domestic food supply, and are vital to protecting Ontario’s food sovereignty and self-sufficiency 🚜 Enjoyed spending time with Kevin Armstrong on his farm in Woodstock alongside @GrainFarmers, learning more about his operation and the soybeans, wheat, and corn he grows for Ontario.

Canada’s ethanol market is growing, but who benefits from that growth? Modern fuel policy increasingly shapes where biofuels are produced, where investment happens and which farmers and rural communities capture the economic opportunity. The numbers in this article make the case for Canadian policy to catch up: nationalnewswatch.com/2026/0…

In challenging times in the #cdnag sector, having the minister to address our membership demonstrates the recognition of our economic impact across #Canada Thank you @CornwallHeath for the conversations today!
Ontario’s grain farmers produce the food, feed and ingredients that Canadians depend on every day. For over 30 years, farmers have attended Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show in Woodstock, ON, to learn about the newest and most innovative products and technology in agriculture. The Outdoor Farm Show features over 650 exhibitors of farm products and services, demonstrations of crops, livestock and technology, and an Innovations Program.   I was honoured to speak at the University of Guelph reception and hear about the innovative work underway across the agriculture sector, from research and academia to industry. @uofg @OntarioFarms @corteva @Maizex @outdoorfarmshow

The FFA extends its sincere gratitude to Minister Jones for steadfast leadership as Minister of Agriculture. Minister Jones has been a strong ally in promoting homegrown ethanol, both in his own region and across the province. We wish @TrevorJonesCKL continued success in this new chapter as Minister of Labour.

Canada has… 🌽 World-class farmers. 🏭 Modern ethanol facilities. ⛽ Affordable, lower-carbon fuel. Now let's make sure Canadian policy keeps pace. A minimum 1.4x credit multiplier helps Canadian ethanol compete, unlocks investment, and keeps our clean fuel industry growing here at home. 🇨🇦

It was an honour to represent farmers today to share how we can work together and grow our communities. It requires planning that recognizes agriculture and the infrastructure that supports it as an essential part of Ontario's future! When we grow, Canada grows! @GrainFarmers
Julie Maw (@mooremawfarms), vice chair, Grain Farmers of Ontario, joined @TrevorJonesCKL and @BobBaileyPC for a tour of Cargill Sarnia, discussing community growth that protects agriculture.   Julie has worked tirelessly alongside GFO’s chair, @feedn4kids, to highlight this facility’s importance to thousands of grain farmers. Approximately 35% of Ontario’s grain exports move through Cargill Sarnia.

This is bad in so many ways. For the driver. For the local community. For Ontario. For the politics around Line 5.
