TestFlight has 250+ users.
1,000+ desktop/android downloads (at least from GitHub) since last release 2 weeks ago.
Another 200+ firmware downloads since last weekâs release.
Feels good to see @ratspeakorg grow.

Weâre on public TestFlight with 250+ users, but wonât be submitting for the app store until more work is done on backgrounding.
Apple is very restrictive, so it takes extra effort to make sure things can run somewhat like modern cloud software when the phone is locked.
bitchat (BLE mesh) is one single feature in @ratspeakorg.
few.
just found this at @ratspeakorg HQ⊠what the hell.
AGENT HOUR /019: @defidude building @ratspeakorg, an encrypted mesh network built to work offline. @DevSecOpz building @1clawAI, Zero Trust infra for AI agents. xitter.cf/i/broadcasts/1jGXgBDMQâŠ

Lately I've been working on an Ethereum light client over @ratspeakorg that uses proofs to minimize trust on an untrusted RPC.
I've been going back and forth on: wallet inside of RatSpeak or using a signature from another wallet.
It's a tradeoff for sure. What do you think?

so... you're telling me ratspeak is built on top of a mesh network that enables offline communication via radio waves using military-grade end to end encryption and the token is integrated into the product?

Phase two of our token portal rollout is live! đ
Starting today, badge holders will have first-class access to Ratspeak infrastructure across the network by enrolling in optional perks:
- Increased offline message limits
Without a cloud, there is no offline messaging. To solve that, the network uses "propagation nodes", which are the stack that enables messages to be delivered to users while they're offline through an encrypted store-and-forward concept. The issue is that propagation nodes can sometimes be unreliable, and even if reliable, often have strict limits to prevent abuse.
Ratspeak already provides propagation nodes running on dedicated servers as a public good, however, starting today badge holders will receive a size limit bump for messages, from 2MB -> 10MB compared to regular network participants.
- Priority offline message storage
Typically, messages stored offline in a propagation node have a policy to evict messages under certain constraints, such as time or under heavy load/usage.
For badge holders across all of our offline inbox infrastructure, messages stored have a relaxed eviction priority, so when typical standard messages are culled under heavy-load or certain network conditions, prioritized messages are the last ones to be replaced.
Message storage time is also increased for badge holders, from 30 days -> 60 days*.
*Limited to the badge-holder only propagation node.
- Mailbox Alert System
With mailbox alerts, badge holders can receive a friendly alert letting them know they have messages waiting for them. Typically these sync automatically, however it's useful under certain network conditions when auto-syncing may not be desirable.
In addition to that, holders can check if they have messages waiting for them directly through the onchain portal section of the website.
Accessing the content messages from the website or knowing the sender of the message are not accessible through the portal - our infrastructure has no technical capability to obtain that info due to the cryptographic nature of the protocol.
In the near future, alerts will be expanded to consider things like e-mail notifications for convenience, onchain activity alerts, and other useful things - all opt-in of course.
- Future Perks
The above is the early utility perks for badge holders. As we move forward, we will continue to elevate these and evaluate what perks we can make possible without creating barriers-to-entry for the network.
This will be an on-going effort, alongside our long term effort, which is constant exploration and R&D into network incentives and other areas where the token may play a more critical role in securing and growing the network.
Today weâre opening the token portal, introducing the first ways to interact with $RATSPEAK in the ecosystem.
In the beginning, users are able to pair their wallet with their Ratspeak address as well as assign their holderâs badge.
Badge perk details will be available in the near future, but until then, youâll need to be connected to the mesh to claim your badge, which means hopping on Ratspeak.
When claiming, make sure to consider the privacy implications when deciding which wallet and Ratspeak identity to pair.
There is zero urgency - the timeline on which you claim will have zero impact on the perks made available, whether you do this now, in one week, or two months from now.
This is not an NFT, instead, it uses cryptography to associate the two and assign the badge accordingly.

Lastly, weâre approaching this piece-by-piece to ensure we do what works.
Therefore, badge tiers, perks, and availability are all subject to change (this isnât legal speak, weâre super serious).
The last time I've been nerd-sniped so hard by something was when I discovered Ethereum in 2017.
The next time was when I began building @ratspeakorg, and each day is still more exciting than the last, even 6+ months later.
It'll be time to sleep when the work is finished. đ

Bankr Builder Spotlight: @ratspeakorg
Ratspeak is building a private peer-to-peer mesh network where devices can communicate directly without relying on accounts, phone numbers or centralized cloud servers.
Messaging is just the start.
Builders can already use Ratspeak to create bots, agents, host webpages, run git and build apps directly on the mesh.
End-to-end encrypted. Open libraries. Internet or cell service can even be optional.
Already live on Android, Mac, Windows and Linux, with iOS on TestFlight.

iOS public beta TestFlight is live! đ
Available for iPhone and iPad, connecting to the mesh network is just a few clicks away now.

.@defidude basically built Signal without servers.
it's called @ratspeakorg and runs on a mesh network called Reticulum.
end to end encrypted messaging. no accounts. no servers. doesn't even need the internet. works over wifi, bluetooth, even LoRa radio.
open-source, written in rust.
if you're a builder interested in privacy stuff, ping @defidude. feels like he's building some foundational tech.
