FYI i decided to leave @risechain at the end of Q1.
haven't posted about it as i was completely burnt out after 18 months there & needed to touch grass. was the first time i’d been that cooked w terrible sleep patterns, bunch of weight gained & lost all excitement for work.
re health, got bloods done after leaving. turns out i had very low Vitamin D, been making sure to spend at least 30 mins out in the sun a day which has made a huge difference. also start jabbing various 中国 peptides & down ~15kg w the fat still melting off w some other benefits.
outside of health things also been going down the AI rabbit hole. one fun project has been building an org-wide agentic harness for a 40 person startup. a few people in their team were already flying with their own agentic setups with custom skills/automations. others were still using vanilla Claude set up & not getting much value from AI. at an org level personal agents are great individually but they don’t scale & nothing compounds across the org. to help solve this we build one shared harness, users can interact via Slack or MCP & get access to deep context, tools & agents. rolling out to their team now, and it’s already saving days on a number of cross-team workflows. (will post case study soon)
been keeping an eye on RISE, awesome to see how far they’ve come. with RISEx ( & some of the things I helped build) doing over $6B cumulative perp volume and roughly $90M a day. s/o @sam_battenally @hai_rise & team for smashing it. still think native CLOBs on the EVM are extremely bullish as the potential unlock a new wave of money legos is huge.
currently still unemployed but in no rush to commit to anything & somewhat tempted to run back 2021, go founder mode & start something new. if you've got interesting ideas in DeFi or AI, down to chat.

I spent the last week touching grass. Highly recommend.
Back to business. It was cool to reflect on our progress over the past few months. Here’s a bit of a brain dump
In August, we cleared $1.05M in revenue, up 23% from July.
August stats:
- $3.05B perps volume, up 22%
- $220M on our biggest day
- Average OI $43.3M, up 126%
- Peak OI $55.5M on August 31
One thing I’m seeing in the data is bigger traders are getting more comfortable, putting on more size, and taking risk on our books. The number of large orders $50k+, and $200k+ are steadily on the rise.
Two months ago we launched our first RWAs. We now have 15 markets and RWAs are typically ~40% of our volume. This is even following a cooling off in the AI trades, which I expect to warm up again. Bottom-line, RWAs are here to stay.
That $220M day was a great stress test. It exposed latency under peak load, and it was exactly the kind of pressure we needed to harden the venue for what’s next ($1B+ mark).
Distribution is the other half. We’ve been aggressively exploring new markets and partnership opportunities and building IRL communities. One thing I’m particularly excited about is shipping banking on/offramps and experimenting with non-crypto distribution.
We are working on new mechanics to reward traders who take on significant size and to reward those who join RISEx as new traders or bring in new traders. I won’t say too much yet, but I am super excited.
Liquidity is getting better each week. Our process here is iterative. We deepen+tighten, then monitor the markouts, then repeat, adding more capital as required. Expect a 2-4x on all RWAs over the next week.
Happy trading
chatted w @sam_battenally briefly re HFT + DL last week
LLMs are pretty useless for low latency stuff. but some patterns used in robotics potentially relevant. i.e. LLM as the brain, tiny fast nets as motor control
whipped up a rough FOSS poc to visualise simple concept of the split (w Astra)
slower neural net reallocates weights across 3 distinct algo's on live low rest data. small algo's stay fast + inspectable. the gate i.e. bigger model decides who to trust and by how much based on higher resolution data
not real hft, no orders, no alpha claim. just making the loop & concept visible
repo if you want to poke at it
github.com/degenRobot/hft-de…
you can just do things
composability & money legos are what make building in DeFi fun
@risextrade as CLOB on EVM unlocks a bunch some cool stuff (as a former RISE employee)
the pieces there for a cracked dev fuelled by stims & bulk AI credits to build something truly great imo
feels good to be free
i am invigorated
time to start building again

currently implementing some org wide agentic tools via custom shared harness.
exciting to see what it unlocks & how it’s evolving in real time.
entire team gets first-class context, tools, and workflows that keep improving as more people use it and more skills/tools/context gets added.
exciting times (as a former RISE employee)
imo lots of fun things to explore for builders + could be quite lucrative too with builder code mechanics
The vision I have for RISE is a thriving financial hub with RISEx as the core engine. The trading engine with a symboitic relationship with the ecosystem apps.
RISEx brings the users, lending markets make porfolio margin and spot market making possible, AMMs offer the liquidation backstop for lending, structured basis products attract LPs and stabilise funding rates, while builder codes bring flow and leverage liquidity.
That’s where we’re headed.
Today marks the MVP launch for the first wave of RISE apps. These apps have been quietly building in the background and are ready to welcome their first users. Please jump in, test them out and give them feedback. They’re all great builders eager to build something special.
You’re a DeFi enthusiast eager to explore? Here's what you can do:
1. Bridge in through the RISE Portal
2. Jump into @Icarus_Fi and @heliosdottrade, LP in to ETH/USDC, XLP/USDR, USDC/USDR, etc
3. Check out RISEx, deploy in to XLP, trade some perps
4. Basis trade: Buy ETH on @Icarus_Fi, Short ETH on RISEx
5. Let @ShiftProtocol_ do the heavy lifting for you with their basis vault.
6. Battle monsters in @4thekingdom_xyz, a complex fully onchain MMORPG

tech v similar to what @paradigm is building w centaur
p.s. if anyone wants to implement centuar for their team please hmu
i'm keen to give it a spin & compare to custom stuff i've built on top of @NanoClaw_AI
Replying to @degenRobot @risechain
ngl the org harness thingy could be a good play
would love to hear more about it

Alchemix v3 has a lot of things new and different, so even those familiar with DeFi in general could stand to learn about the system, how it works, and how to use it.
So give some vids a watch, and visit alchemix.fi afterwards, explore your opportunities there, and make some money using our dapp.
Did you know Alchemix has a YouTube channel?
Walkthroughs, explainers, and more to help you navigate v3.
Check them out:

awesome to see @paradigm shipping some top tier AI stuff
been helping [REDACTED] start up implement something similar for their team (building on top of nanoclaw)
feedback so far has been solid with beta version already showing
1 - AI complete complex tasks accurately & take advantage of accurate context from various internal connections + strong set of tools
2 - helps team get access to top tier tooling / agents in their own AI workflow via MCP
3 - great way to show power of AI to non technical parts of team due to high visibility in slack
and overall solves big problem that seems consistent across businesses in terms of getting most out of AI
Announcing Centaur 2.0!
Centaur is frontier, agentic infrastructure that you own. Centaur is like Claude Tag, but open source and on steroids.
Centaur 2.0 can connect to everything you have access to, and can reason over it next to where you work, either in Slack, Discord, Teams or in your local Codex or Claude Code via an MCP.
But context isn't useful if it can be accessed by anyone, so we rebuilt Centaur from the ground up for security. Centaur obviously doesn't have access to secrets because we're leveraging egress proxies.
Centaur 2.0 takes that a step further enabling administrators to configure who can access what from where. This means that Centaur can have access to private information that you normally wouldn't feel comfortable giving it access to (e.g. DMs or sensitive channels and docs) but only expose it to authorized principals.
It also means you can add Centaur to external channels and leverage it as a virtual colleague that doesn't live only in your Slack, for example, but also your Slack Connect channels! This is extremely powerful as we start moving to a world where agents cross organizational boundaries.
Also in case anyone's wondering, yes we rewrote it in Rust! Centaur is now way way more stable at durably executing threads, and its workflow engine is now based on Absurd.
We have been operating Centaur since January, officially launched and Open Sourced it in May, and now we're full speed towards making it the #1 open source agentic infrastructure.
To succeed at that, I'm thrilled to welcome @mslipper to the @paradigm team who will be leading all our Applied AI work, while continuing to maintain and extend Iron Proxy as the leading secure secret access for agents. Welcome Matt, it's an honor after all these years of knowing you!

those USDC yield were juicy af (no token purely from PDN madness)
crazy to discover current founders also behind obscure protocols i used cycles ago
this was OG fantom defi tech; thought this was dope as fuck
leveraged pool2 yield farming where you only had to deposit 1 base asset. the secondary token would be borrowed from a lending protocol (C.R.E.A.M. if yall remember)
if you remember RoboVault you're a ball knower and you have my respect
@Ceazor7 had a video on them here: youtube.com/watch?v=Zv0eT5uy… (6k TVL at the time)
did a presentation the day after this (+ was first exposure to a crypto conference)
suffice to say the crowd was empty as many attendees had too much fun
