well I found out the hard way that NPM doesn't like symlinks buuuut

Realistically speaking, you'd abstract this into a reusable logic to perform some action against statuses. You'd build this once and hardly ever touch it.
Problem: You need to check if a value matches one of many potential values.
Solution: Consider array.includes.
This avoids declaring a bunch of repetitive conditionals.
