one of the worst modern filmmaking trends is soundtracking a scene of extreme violence with an ironically innocuous/cheery pop song. total hack move

a lot of people love to operate under the assumption that the art of the moving image was created to “advance the plot.”

To think there are DC fans who's biggest concerns with this are that they won't be able to pretend their already imperialist reactionary superhero slop is progressive anymore.

You should all be embarrassed. This self absorbed desire to want to congratulate yourselves for watching a Hollywood film, to the point of appropriating the genocide of Palestinians to cleanse the sins of Western imperialist propaganda. Shame on you.

The shot in Obsession of Sarah’s dead body in the house is the image that’s lingered with me from that movie the most because of how misogynistic and mean-spirited it is. Basically every time I think about that movie I like it less
