New fusion political ideology called 'effective Maoism' where you work a high-flying finance job and then wire 10% of your income to communist guerillas.

It’s going to get worse but we are rapidly becoming a society of two types of people, ones who can function normally the way people have for thousands of years, and the other who have intellectually neutered themselves in the delusional belief that it is to become more efficient
So the people that are anti AI, do you like, not use AI at all??? Like not using it for generative art, and paying artists, I understand, but you're behinnnndddd if you refuse to touch it

Every weed I’ve ever had has been the exact same. It’s so funny to me when people talk about strains and their effects. To me, every strain is “weed” and every effect is “get high”. My dealer is like “this is the weed that gets you high” and I’m like “yay that’s my favourite”.
Marijuana is not what it used to be, seems like it’s been laced with dumb & dumber. Yall don’t want to talk about that though. It doesn’t even smell the same anymore, smells like more chemicals than flower

So funny that a celebrity is told no for the first time since the Bush administration and their immediate response is that they’ve been mistaken for a poor person
The Brooklyn store Kelly Clarkson criticized on here yesterday has responded with a statement.

now a deleted post, but this is the ultimate end point of capitalism, ai will completely atomize everyone and there will be zero shared experiences. there will be no culture, only pure consumption. this must be resisted

Historically speaking, being mayor of New York City means that everyone more or less hates you for hyper-specific, contradictory reasons. In this sense, October 7th was the day Zohran Mamdani truly became mayor

I do wish people understood that the prose is everything. There is no story “beneath” the prose. Cartesian dualism does not exist for books. There is no distinct soul of a book that can be separated from the body its prose. The experience of reading the language IS the novel.
I just saw this in the kindle store and now you all have to suffer along with me

Taking a driving lane (privatized for drivers) and turning it into park/esplanade (for all New Yorkers) is the "privatization of public space" and "Republican." What are we doing here folks.
It’s privatization of public space. Nothing progressive about any of it. Privatization is Republican policy

doing all that stuff myself is trivial to me because I'm smarter than you. I don't trust that a bot that's good enough for your purposes would be good enough for mine because, again, I'm smarter than you.
I find these takes really confusing. you have a 150 IQ+ tireless genius living in your computer. it can use your browser and read your email and access any file you want. it won't complain if you give it the most tedious administrative tasks. it is willing to work 24/7 for less than minimum wage. it can work unsupervised for hours at a time. and you can't think of any way to put it to use? are you completely lacking in imagination or do you enjoy mundane administrative tasks? you enjoy paying parking tickets and triaging emails and manually unsubscribing from spam and vetting credit card payments and canceling subscriptions and renegotiating insurance? you like doing that?
