We know how to make our streets safer, so we did it 600 times. Red light cameras reduce red light running by 80% and T-bone crashes by 65%. Most importantly, they help New Yorkers get home safely. That's why we installed new red light cameras at 600 intersections across the five boroughs to help stop dangerous driving before tragedy strikes, and make our streets safer for everyone who walks, rolls, drives, or takes the bus. nydailynews.com/2026/10/21/n…

Oh my god it’s real
Remember the time a transit community engagement consultant wrote an article about visiting Amsterdam to see how they built transit infrastructure and was shocked and offended that they didn’t do “community engagement”?

The MTA is proposing a new 125 Street Subway, which would extend west from the future 125 St/Lexington Av Q station. The project would connect existing subway lines—including the Second Avenue Subway—and bus routes along the corridor. Learn more about this project at a public scoping meeting; we're hosting two virtual sessions on October 22, and one in-person session on October 27. Register for a session and get all the details: mta.info/project/125-street-…

Understanding NYC local politics means recognizing that a significant percent of the population’s ideology is just “nobody should be comfortable or have any fun anywhere near me, and nothing should ever change”

In this world where polling error is completely randomized, we’re discoursing over polling error being all towards Dems 6 elections in a row in 2010/2012/2014/2016/2018 If someone suggested polling error was random they’d likely laugh at u before 2020 (source: Nate Silver)

I have a lot of respect for many friends on the W2W slate with whom I staunchly disagree on our strategic vision, but I’d be lying to say I’m not disappointed to see them ally with this person, who has donated to multiple anti-DSA candidates in this cycle alone.
Just last fall, one of the leaders of this slate was rallying with Zohran’s Republican challenger and Vickie Paladino, who has called for Zohran to be deported, the “expulsion of Muslims" and posts about throwing leftists out of helicopters. Disappointing!

Many states have laws on the books about polling that go totally unenforced. For example, it is illegal in New York state to "commit... Deliberate misrepresentation of the contents or results of a poll relating to any candidate's election." I would like to see these laws enforced.
This is the third pollster this cycle to print out completely fake information (TPSI, Median Strategies, now Wedgewood) I genuinely think regulators should start coming out to charge these people with wire fraud
