Another lovely chat via the app @dialup. This time with a Bostonian poet called Dance. You will only find his poetry in library books where he seeds them for the curious to discover.

@dialup is the cutest corner of the internet I've seen in a while. A good example of how to reinvent social media for genuine, serendipitous connections. Like sitting on a bench and having a surprisingly deep chat with the stranger next to you.

Astonishing call on @dialup this afternoon. Spoke for 2hrs 30 to a woman in the US about love, loss, trauma, death, recovery, politics, wigs, cats, squirrels, and much more besides. Tears on both sides and also lots of laughter. It’s been an extraordinary day.

Saw this tweet earlier today. Signed up on @dialup. Just had the most wonderful, hour-long conversation with an elderly gentleman from the UK. Definitely recommend it!

@LaraLewington @spenley So cool the piece about QuarantineChat! I met someone on it who is now a very good friend and his wife who has now 'adopted' me as her younger sister! ❤️❤️❤️ The best this that has happened for ages... @BBCClick

Hi friends at @dialup, just had my first call on your platform and I don't recall in recent memory to have lost track of time talking to someone, especially a first conversation. Looking forward to more interesting conversations in future. Thank you for doing what you're doing 🙏🏻

Oh wow, I just had my first call with a stranger on dialup.com/. I spoke to a lovely woman in Croydon about how she is surviving lockdown three. This is such a wonderful idea.

The @dialup app is interesting.
I used it yesterday and forgot I had it set.
Around 5pm the phone rang. A robot voice gave an optional #icebreaker question and then "hello?". Talked 38 minutes to an Egyptian architect. Even brainstormed some professional/creative ideas.
