The Cornell rapists are not "young men with bright futures who made a mistake."
They are the next generation of wealthy, privileged men being taught that their money and status mean they won't have to answer for their actions.
Another one!
@CQCProf are just part of the abuse system now
NEW: We’ve uncovered more allegations of abuse and assault at homes run by Blue Ribbon Healthcare, a private care firm responsible for the care of people with learning disabilities.
BRH is already under investigation by CQC after our investigation in July

it’s so ironic seeing people telling those who are on PIPs to go out and get a job, when PIPs can be a lifeline into getting people into employment

You can't cut £50 billion from the chronically ill and disabled.
We will die.
Or is that the point?
Diana O'Connor retweeted
We see disabled people every week at @TrussellUK food banks struggling to afford food, other essentials, to run vital medical equipment. For many PIP is the difference between surviving, working & part of their community vs being hungry, isolated & more unwell. See below...

Community care has been decimated over the past 15yrs
40% fewer District Nurses
37% Health Visitors
36% School Nurses
11% GPs
Funding has been cut in real terms
Proportion of NHS £ reduced
But work more complex with 20% more being done
But too many gaps in the system/care

My daughter who lives in a rural area, receives PIP. She suffers from a learning disability. PIP pays for a very small car through Motability, which enables her to live a life where she has got a job. Take away PIP, takes away car, takes away job.
Never vote ReformUK.

Let’s name him. Toby Young. Not only did he gleefully pursue Arday, his Free Speech Union (along with Professor James Orr) is providing the legal defence for Nathan Cofnas, the pseudo science ‘race realist’ who led the attack on Cofnas when his job at Cambridge wasn’t renewed

I have 2 degrees and pursuing a 3rd, and I have had teachers and lecturers who I thought and still think they were talking nonsense.
I never thought it would be something the entire country should know about. Thank you @thetimes. I have a lecturer to report to you.

Already seeing community reactions offering stuff. Please remember the golden rule #CashNotStuff. The best way to help is to donate money, not things, and I will link to a funding page as soon as it’s available

Well well.
Just heard back from NHSE. Seems like they are swamped with complaints. And are rethinking things.

Two thing can be true
1) it’s reprehensible to be a medical voyeur and we need to protect patients from the unscrupulous people who do this
2) restrictions or barriers to prevent clinicians from accessing notes will stifle many aspects of training / professional development
I don’t have a good solution except to try to employ ‘professionals’ with scruples
Who even are these people that do this?

Worth a read of this thread from @DrLKVaughan
Amends and clarifications on its way from @NHSEngland shortly
There are about 4-5 “Medical Directors” nowadays across @NHSEngland @DHSCgovuk
Have they read this?
I doubt it.
Then again- clinical leadership isn’t much of a thing nowadays.
💯 this.
If @andyburnham is going to make #socialcare a priority he needs to do it for adults AND children. The #SEND reforms have not talked enough about the role of social care for disabled children and if you don't sort that out you feed the adult crisis and fail families. 🧵

This. I regularly follow up patients I’ve seen on the acute take/on call/in ED who I’ve reviewed and it is incredibly helpful. It changes practice and allows for internal reflection when more details are known! Making barriers/blocking this impacts patient safety.
Replying to @trentconsultant
The linked guidance now suggests that if you treat someone and want to know how the outcome of your treatment you need to jump through all the following hoops, including making a note in their record that you've looked at it.
Much easier just to not learn anything at all.
Diana O'Connor retweeted
News for clinicians: if you access a patient record for reflective practice/education you're required to add a note explaining what you accessed and why.
Did anyone know this? Was it announced? Because it seems intended to catch people out.
