Just having my usual leftie night of guilt and (given my poor health) despair of our world. And the highly connected people who can just ruin people’s lives. So strangely get drawn (for some reason) to injustice. This song always does it for me. It’s another extraordinarily beautiful an powerful work of one of Nelly’s songwriters Boff Whalley – Chumbawamba’s “waiting for the bus”.
Gary Tyler wrongly accused spent 42 years in prison (until he – after never doing so - finally “confessed” to get out) for a crime he didn’t commit.
Unless you’re one of the right wing trolls that have been thumping me ... tell me this isn’t how you write songs ...

Not sure why but sometimes images just get me. Normally move on but as I'm ill in my bed I dwell. But Joni Mitchell backstage at a festival just seems to capture her creativity and brilliance. And as a writer, I simply don't know why. It just does! And it's Gray ... not Blue! x

A new government document on primary school children's writing and - big surprise - not a single writer for children on the panel. Quick question: how many thousands of hours of writing workshops have children's writers done with children in the last 5 yrs?
Having been having some - shall we say - "exchanges" with right wing fuckwits on the impending resident doctors' strike (a disgrace... they're on £43k a year). I suggest they just want £17 an hour to become £21). I got blocked. That's the way to argue your case. Badge of honour?
Charlotte is so impressive. She called The Bar Standards Board as “unfit for purpose” after a tribunal over-ruled a case against her brought by them. Result? The BSB Chair is now in a better paid public job. How fab that Charlotte's book and media profile has soared since! Hope!

This must-read post is a tour de force. A joy from start to finish. Fun for all the family! I thoroughly recommend it.
Today in 1984, Arthur Scargill tells Neil Kinnock: “You have only one lesson to learn from Mrs Thatcher - when you do become the Government of the day show us the same loyalty to our class that she has shown to their class.”
Good job we've got Starmer now: Toolmakers rejoice!
This is what state awards should be for ... merit (and not just doing your well paid job or for your connections or for your donations) ...and in France no mention of their Empire ... The "imperial" part of the title was dropped ...

This is a fascinating conversation. I hope you listen to it.
Former Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren defends a plan to forcibly transfer 2 million Palestinians into concentration camps atop the ruins of Rafah to create Donald Trump’s “Mediterranean Riviera” in Gaza.
When confronted with Article 49 of the Geneva Convention, which prohibits such transfers under any pretext, Oren dismisses it as outdated and a “grey area” because the law was written for wars “between countries where people wore uniforms.” LBC’s @lewis_goodall told him, “It’s not grey—it’s very clear.”
