The ole baseball + property movement is small compared to China rail + property model. This is *just* Hong Kong
Wild Braves stat 👀 The Battery (real estate + mixed-use) made more operating income in 2025 than the baseball team itself: ⚾ $51M 🏙️ $69M The development around Truist Park is now the bigger money-maker. Atlanta doing Atlanta things 🔥

Bolivia has the king of Burger Kings 👀

Next year it'll be 20 years since community planning began for Atlanta's Fort MacPherson redevelopment. Not a scrap of the promised mixed-use urbanism has been built to benefit nearby communities since then. Neighbors are still looking at walls (now with a studio behind them).

New: Sources from three countries confirm that the Trump Administration has advocated Viktor Orbán for UN Secretary-General. The US has encouraged Orbán to enter the race, even bringing him the initial idea of a joint U.S.-Russia-China candidacy. WSJ: wsj.com/opinion/viktor-orban…

America would be better off if great mayors and governors could be elected to run other cities and states after their terms. Legally its possible but practically it wouldnt happen.
Breakfast of champions.

Random fun fact: The former President of Mexico hails from a Cincinnati, Ohio family.
¡NINGÚN RÉGIMEN PUEDE APAGAR PARA SIEMPRE LA VOZ DE UNA NACIÓN QUE ANHELA LIBERTAD! DEMOCRACIA, DIGNIDAD Y LIBERTAD: ¡ESO MERECE VENEZUELA! ¡ESO MERECE LATINOAMÉRICA! ¡ESO MERECEN TODAS LAS NACIONES! ¡QUE NUNCA SE RINDAN QUIENES LUCHAN POR SU PATRIA! ¡LA LIBERTAD NO SE NEGOCIA! ¡SÍ SE PUEDE! ¡SIEMPRE SE PUEDE!

Why do oil change chains always give you a sticker to come back in 3,000 miles but claim their oil change lasts 5,000 miles or more? Scammy vibes.

In the time it takes a train to get from New York to Washington, you can get from Paris to Provence - twice as far. I mapped every rail station you can reach from central Paris and central New York in 1, 2, and 3 hours. Two hours from Paris gets you to Lyon, Strasbourg, or Nantes. Two hours from Midtown gets you to Wilmington. Paris to London, under the Channel, is a slightly longer trip than New York to Washington. The train is 40 minutes faster. Washington only makes the 3-hour cutoff on one train a day. It isn't about distance. France has built dedicated high-speed lines out of Paris since 1981, and TGVs run them at 186 mph. The Northeast Corridor shares track with commuter trains and runs through century-old tunnels. Acela only hits top speed on short stretches. The Northeast has the cities and the riders for this. Every hop on the corridor, even Boston to New York, is shorter than Paris to Lyon. What it doesn't have is track built for speed.

This is the correct take. Remember that "safety" is not just about avoiding death, but the ability to relax, shut your eyes, think about a project, or get lost in a book. Nobody should have to "remain vigilant" or "keep their head on a swivel" on public transportation.
The NYC subway is both safer than Fox News viewers would believe, but also unacceptably disorderly by any honest urbanist standard. We must demand better.

Clearly high speed rail and mass transit won’t work in our CHINA climate.

People in Medellín love strolling down Junín Street in downtown so much they invented a verb for it: juniniar. Imagine if Atlanta’s Peachtree Street were so wonderful that we called walking down it “Peachtreeing.” Something to aspire to!
A continuación algunas imágenes de intervenciones de calles en MEDELLÍN. Merecemos mejores calles; este tipo de acciones deben multiplicarse. 1. Junín peatonal. Antes / después *Fuente: Civilizar las calles, EAFIT.

Infuriating that @JetBlue is jacking up prices within the few minutes it takes to complete the transaction within their own website. Even Ticketmaster treats their customers better than this. This is false advertising and a shameful business practice. @USDOT @SecDuffy @JusticeATR @TheJusticeDept @FAANews
