I mentioned that maybe the semester should be over after 10 weeks and people are asking if I want quarters or stating that is what I am describing, so I feel the need to be explicit: 10-week semesters. Keep your logic and whatever else out of it.

I know there’s a lot of tension surrounding 3-year degrees. I think they are an awful idea. But, at the same time, you could convince me that the 14/15/16 week semester is no longer ideal. It’s week 10 here and maybe that’s good enough?

Oh, I’ve made it off and on since AI came along. The issue of assigning writing v teaching writing v using writing as a medium for examination are long standing tensions in higher education now exacerbated by AI.

The rare, brief window of time when I have both of my diabetic devices removed is doubly weird in that not only am I not a cyborg during that time but I am also explicitly a human slowly dying, acutely.

Keywords or Marxism and Literature. The cultural materialist tend to be harsh on MaL but I think the keyword based chapters are really useful. Granted, I read it for theoretical framework to study teacher comments so made sense for that. @nhold, thoughts?

Education as task completion is Dante’s circle of hell for educators who don’t want to be bosses.

I’ve taught first-year composition for 20 years. Students have always “word processed” assigned papers. I typed all my high school and college papers. So what year do the pen and paper crowd want to return to exactly? (Blue books aren’t papers. They are written exams.)
