Appreciate @dppatel_ sharing this update, and grateful to @harleyf and the @Shopify team for partnering closely with us behind the scenes. At @Rokt, we take security incredibly seriously. Whilst this attack was unsuccessful - zero shopper data, payment details, or credentials were compromised in this incident, what we saw is a wake-up call for every tech company: we all collectively need to go on the AI security offensive. Bad actors are already weaponizing frontier AI. In this attack, automated tooling, firing millions of probes, and instantly pivoted across thousands rotating proxy IPs the second blocks went up. Whether it’s exploiting critical infrastructure flaws like the recent PHP bug or hunting for complex weaknesses, AI is exposing vulnerabilities faster than human teams alone can patch them. Only organizations deploying cutting-edge AI models for defense stand a chance against AI-armed attackers. That is why our security team—bringing deep experience from the FBI’s cyber division—partnered early with @AnthropicAI through their Cyber Verification Program. Cybersecurity can’t be a solo sport anymore. Sharing intelligence transparently with partners like is how we collectively stay ahead of the curve.
There’s been a lot of speculation about @aftersell over the last week, including some erroneous claims about checkout hijacking. We understand given what's going on in the ecosystem but here's what actually happened to Aftersell 👇 Starting October 7th, an attacker sent millions of malicious requests to our servers. Most failed or did nothing, but the attack exposed non-sensitive upsell configuration data (e.g. discount settings) from a subset of 22 stores and they have of course been notified. It was an automated and almost certainly AI-assisted attack. It sent millions of requests in a single day, and switched to a pool of 1,460 rotating IP addresses. The moment we blocked one, the next one would appear. We closed the vulnerability within two hours. For everyone speculating about checkout hijacking, I want to make it very clear that this DID NOT happen to us. No shopper data or payment info was exposed, and no money moved. Aftersell merchants do not need to take any action - the app remains fully functional. No sensitive data was exposed, but the responsible thing was to take ownership and make sure the security of our product came first. I’d rather take the install hit before BFCM than ask merchants to trust us before we’d checked everything. Here’s what we’ve done since: → We’ve been working closely with Shopify’s security team and have brought in third parties for external incident review, VAPT, and specialized pen testing. → Aftersell is part of Rokt, and Rokt’s security team has run this investigation. The team is led by an ex-FBI cybersecurity leader and recently joined Anthropic’s Cyber Verification Program, which gives our security team access to Anthropic’s most capable models for defensive work. These models are now continuously reviewing every public route on Aftersell and are built into our security stack. → We have informed the FBI and other partners that share cyber threat intelligence to help stop attackers in the ecosystem. We will continue to work with the cybersecurity community to ensure the highest of security standards on Aftersell. → We are working with Shopify to ensure we get re-listed as soon as possible so new stores can install and set up Aftersell ahead of BFCM. Our commitment to the merchants who use or are considering Aftersell: 1) Security comes first on our roadmap. Our entire engineering team has spent the last few weeks on security work, and we’re using AI to defend against AI, with those same models now built into our security stack. We’ll keep investing, and we’ll stay transparent. If something affects your store, you’ll hear it from us. This is an always on program. We contacted affected merchants, we will always do this to ensure you know what is going on. 2) We’ll share what we learn. Attacks like this are becoming more common by the day across all platforms and we want to help our partners get ahead of them too. More on this soon. If your Shopify app has been hit by something similar, DM me. Happy to share our notes and learnings. We take a lot of pride in serving a large portion of the Shopify ecosystem, and we’re committed to building the best and most secure upsell product out there. If you have questions, comment below or DM me directly.

AI is changing storefront dev - connect Claude Code to a git repo and you can make the best sites ever. As we're building Aftersell Cart we're focussed on that vision - AI cart is a thing. The value we'll bring are modules, templates, and perfect tool integration.
watch me one-shot olipop’s cart from a screenshot one prompt directly in @aftersell cart sneak peek at “create with ai” 👇 shoutout to @StephanieW1226

Top 3 reasons why @aftersell has grown 5x FASTER post-acquisition: → Client value > personal incentive → "Fuse to the spine" of the parent co → Strong support from parent co's leadership Very basic but super important for any business partnership.

Shoutout to the aftersell team man. Had Varun on the podcast today. Great people who have been killing it lately with content and product updates.
Are you really in ecom if you don't have a pile of test purchases?

.@imaarontang is building a sick product - worth hitting him up if you run a beauty brand 🔥
We ran a shopping assistant for a brand doing $500K+ a month. Desktop lift was phenomenal. +20% Revenue per visitor, +7% AOV, HUGE Win. Mobile went...down? We double-checked the layout, scanned for bugs, everything was fine. Turns out, results differed because of the intent. Desktop shoppers were browsing, curious, no plan --> shopping assistant is extremely helpful. Mobile shoppers come ads and already have intent to buy --> shopping assistant distracts and fucks it all up. You're doing yourself a disservice putting a quiz or assistant in front of a shopper who's already purchase-intentful. (Make it a dedicated page instead) If you paid for the click, don't get in the way.

What are some of the coolest custom modules you've seen in carts? Asking for a friend building @aftersell cart 👀 I've seen a few great ones: → @trueclassictees's membership upsell → @codyplof's autoship on Winks → @drinkolipop's "choose your impact" → Lemmelive's in-cart sweepstakes Any others?
Introducing @aftersell's next frontier to dominate...Aftersell Cart 👇 I've wanted to own cart forever and become the best full funnel upselling platform...and we're finally there. Shoutout to Mike from Gruns for partnering with us on this. There's 4 primitives in every Aftersell product: 1) Targeting - who you're showing the offer to Aftersell Cart integrates into our new API-driven strategies feature that allows you to target exactly DOWN TO THE MODULE which customer will see what part of the cart. 2) Layouts - how the offer looks to the end customer This is probably the coolest. We've got a fully programmable JSX-based cart that you can customize. Every pixel can be configured. We're rolling out our own AI-based tooling to build carts with on top of this. Our team is owning design + launch for some of our early users - comment below if you want us to take a look. 3) Reporting - how the offer is performing We launched our new reporting product a few weeks ago and we've seen people building insane dashboards with it already. Cart now hooks into our reporting infrastructure and you'll be able to build context aware dashboards across the entire transaction. 4) Testing - how to make the offer perform better You can set up multiple carts and manage them as you want between different promotional seasons, brand testing, upsell testing, etc. We allow full end-to-end testing directly in Aftersell Cart without having to manage cart testing in another tool. Comment what else you'd love to see in our cart product.

.@interaction's "price negotiation" feature gave me a crazy idea: +20% upsell conversions on @aftersell... What if when an upsell is declined we showed a "negotiation" UI? Should we build this out?

Your job from $0 → $10M → $100M+ each look dramatically different. In the last 5 years of building @aftersell, I've done all 3 of those and this is the most important lesson I've learned: Find the largest constraint and solve it as fast as possible.

Just got an invite yesterday and have used it to clear out 10k emails, buy a few things off of Amazon, and find me some Airbnbs. This is a game changer - congrats @noahrshinn!
I’m Noah, the founder of Instinct. Instinct is a personal agent that we’ve been building for the past few months. The interface is simple: there are no new interfaces. You can text or call it. It's trained to use a phone and a computer in the same way that humans do. Instinct combines simplicity with extreme capability. I’m thrilled with everything our early users are doing with Instinct. They’ve told us they’ve planned cross-country road trips, bought weekly groceries and concert tickets, and cancelled hundreds of dollars of subscriptions. Someone’s even planning their wedding with Instinct. We want to make Instinct the best personal agent for all of you. It’s available in an invite-only beta program while we’re actively bringing up more compute. I’m excited to see what you all do with it. instinct.co

An AI agent has been fixing bugs at @aftersell for 6 months. It costs us $400/mo. Meet Watson👇 We audited all of our engineering tickets last year and 35% weren't code bugs. They were config questions, duplicates of bugs we already knew about, confusing UI, etc. And then the real bugs? The fixes are always easy but investigation was always the inefficient part. Watson now finds and squashes bugs and has started to implement features fully autonomously. Here's how it works: 1) Triage - is this worth looking into? Watson classifies every ticket before it digs in - is it a config issue, known issue, does it need more info? Output is structured data so downstream stages branch off of a real contract instead of parsing what a model is saying. Helps a lot with latency, cost, and performance. 2) Investigate - what happened? This is the core of why we built Watson - it'll reconstruct the entire event timeline, read the codebase, pull cloud logging, etc. And we built this all directly on top of the Claude Platform Client SDK so we can have full control over prompt caching, per-tool call caps, cost accounting, etc. It's a super powerful way to control cost - on a "warm run" - 98% of inputs are from the cache. 3) Implement - write to the codebase Watson directly writes to the repo, makes a PR, etc. It also monitors and reviews PR comments from reviewers. This is the simplest part - writing the code is so simple when you've gotten all of the context from triaging and investigation. 4) Memory - self improving loop (MUST HAVE) Watson has a persistent memory mounted via GCS Fuse. Every time Watson is invoked it brings back findings and artifacts. We're layering it into episodic (past investigations), semantic (distilled patterns and playbooks), and reflective (what investigation strategies actually work on this codebase). Watson integrates into everything we have - all internal chats, support systems, Linear, Github, etc. It's constantly improving and every single Linear ticket we have gets looked at by Watson. Our first run was ~$50 and now it costs us $3.87 per ticket all in. Comment below if you want me to write up a guide for how to build your own Watson.

I co-founded @aftersell with @Armon_Sho and @varunkundra. We hit $100M+ ARR. Now I’m CPO at Rokt. All before turning 25. I want to share early looks at new features and hear what you think we should build next. Who should I be following on X?

Last year, the developers building on @Shopify took home $1.3B. Behind that: a designer who bought his hometown football club with app revenue @malisauskasLT . Three co-founders who turned a lunch conversation into a $100M company @PostscriptIO. A builder who's been here since the first 100 apps and never looked back @isaacbowen. Woke up to 10+ texts from the team... @Shopify featured @Aftersell in their Enterprise Growth Toolkit! Really cool moment. Enterprise growth has been a huge focus for us over the last 12 months. Not just “does the app work?” But can it support bigger brands, more complex teams, and way more customization? We’ve been investing in... • Strategies: API-first triggers for more targeting control. • Cart JSX: fully custom cart builder powering brands like Grüns & GOAT Foods. • Order Browser V2: better monitoring, data visibility, and easier debugging. • PPU flexibility: super customizable post-purchase flows. 50%+ of DR brands on Shopify use us. • Rokt Thanks: real ML powering truly relevant third-party offers. The goal is simple: Every time a brand gets bigger, @Aftersell should get more useful, not more limiting. Proud to see our team’s relentless grind recognized. Really appreciate the shoutout @Shopify!

I have no affiliation with @aftersell but wow, their onboarding is the best I've ever experienced. You install their shopify app, it asks you if you want a expert to help you, you click yes, and a minute later their team is literally setting upsells for me. Having been in B2B SaaS for 10+ years, most forget their buyers are lazy. Well done @Armon_Sho and my rep Patti🙌
