Every year I have a new moth recording book. This year’s cover has been beautifully painted by my wife. Not sure I will be getting too many moon moths in Surrey, but it will make me smile every time I enter records!
Lesser Purple Emperor in the Dordogne today. Some amazing landscapes that probably haven’t changed much in over a hundred years, plenty of wild areas and little (visible) pollution

Not had a trap like that in a while… incredible numbers and variety flying away before I could log them but can I check please @MOTHIDUK a Slender Pug and a Gem? Thanks
Hi @MOTHIDUK is this a Yellow-barred Brindle, Seraphim or something else please?
Hi @MOTHIDUK are you able to confirm that this is a Shuttle-shaped Dart please? It was a bit bigger than I would expect. Thanks!
The number of moth species are picking up with a lovely Great Prominent, but at the other end of the size spectrum, do you know what this might be @MOTHIDUK ? Thanks

And so it begins… 13 of 7 macro moths this morning. Appropriately, Spring Usher leads the way. Here’s to 2025 all of you!
