One counter question on Bengaluru and the entire band of chauvinists suddenly become extremely insecure.
One question from Nikhil Kamath and suddenly the entire North Indian ecosystem is busy lecturing the South on nationalism.
But nobody seems interested in answering the actual question- What does Karnataka and the southern states get in return for their contribution to the Union?
Nationalism shouldn't mean avoiding uncomfortable questions.
Asking for fiscal fairness is not anti-nationalism. It's accountability.
That's ok. As the poet says
"निंदक नियरे राखिए, आँगन कुटी छवाय।
बिन पानी, साबुन बिना, निर्मल करे सुभाय॥"
Personally, I think it was a mistake for the @BJP4India Govt, to stop all the perks and housing benefits received by the Indian media from the govt, after it came to power in 2014. It has earned the BJP & the RSS, the unremitting hostility of the legacy media and its Woke counterparts abroad!
Some have extended Kamath's argument to question the returns that Bengaluru gets for its massive economic contribution to Karnataka. And suddenly every chauvinist who contribute nothing have suddenly discovered that the cries of discrimination do not end at the State level.
Nikhil Kamath questioned the returns Karnataka gets for its massive economic contribution.
Suddenly, every outsider in karnataka enjoying the city's opportunities, infrastructure and high salaries has discovered their patriotism. 😂
Funny how nationalism becomes selective when Kannadigas demand their fair share of the taxes their state generates.
Karnataka isn't asking for charity. It's demanding fairness. 💛❤️

"This is a weird mix of hopium and copium"🤣🤣🤣
Check all the pan-India events Rahul Gandhi has done since 2014. On April 30, 2015, Rahul Gandhi began a 15 km 'kisan padyatra' in Amrawati district, Maharashtra's Vidarbha region. In May 2015, he held a 15-km 'padyatra' in Adilabad district, Telangana. On July 24, 2015, Rahul Gandhi undertook a 'padyatra' in Andhra Pradesh's drought-hit Anantapur district. In September 2016, Gandhi undertook a ‘kisan mahayatra’ in Uttar Pradesh. The Jan Vedna Sammelan / Nationwide Demonetisation Protests in January 2017. He did the ‘Kheti Bachao Yatra’ in Punjab on October 4, 2020. He organised a pan-India Bharat Jodo Yatra from September 7, 2022 – January 30, 2023. The Haath Se Haath Jodo Abhiyan (January – March 2023). The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra began on January 14, 2024, in Thoubal, Manipur, and ended in Mumbai on March 20, 2024. He repeated the Samvidhan Bachao / Save the Constitution Campaigns in 2018 and 2024. Then came the Vote Adhikar Yatra, along with other leaders of the Mahagathbandhan, which culminated in Patna on September 1, 2025.
Every time, the usual suspects say, "this time is different", "it feels unique, "this time it has young people and women". The fact is, they say the same thing every damn time. Their words don't even change now. This isn't analysis. This is a weird mix of hopium and copium. Look, I get that you want Rahul Gandhi to win. But say it openly, like I say I vote for the BJP and would prefer them to win. But even so, I set my BJP preference aside when I try to look at what might happen.
I have stopped watching PM Modi's speeches by and large. I will make an exception here or there for word analysis in large models. I can predict what he will say and what Rahul Gandhi will say based on a solid speech model. But I am not foolish enough to think Mr Modi wins because of his speeches, or that Rahul keeps losing because of his speeches. Voters look at delivery, and they base their preference on that. Do not insult the Indian voter. The voter picks who he/she wants to pick and goes with them.
Also, this isn't the first time the Indian opposition has filled Ramlila Maidan. Gosh, a giant chunk of Indians still vote for them. So that is the bare minimum any serious political outfit will achieve. FYI, Raj Thackeray also fills up Shivaji Park. That is a different matter; he cannot win elections. But again, Ramlila Maidan got full, and people started the usual copium and hopium. Please be better when you do any socio-political analysis. Look at things longitudinally. Look at past instances and then see what happened electorally after that. If your claim is that Rahul does these yatras to enthuse his own core base and cadre, then I am with you. Any good politician should do that. But everything else is bullshit, and it is my duty to point it out for folks who rely on such charlatans for analysis.
That's preeti neutral!
About yesterday - #RamlilaMaidanRally
- Ramlila Maidan was packed to the rafters
- Clear endorsement of Rahul Gandhi’s leadership of the INDIA alliance.
- Unlike in the past, Congress was on the offensive, owning its attacks on the government.
- Good rally management, Seva Dal deserving special mention.
- Impressive cadre mobilisation across alliance partners.
- Unseen iter-party cadre camaraderie
- Launch of the Uttar Pradesh campaign.
- A more united, cohesive and organised Opposition.
Biggest achievement: not just mobilising, but energising and motivating the cadre for the battles ahead.
A journo vile and vicious.
Frustrated but ambitious.
A Darbari to boot,
Her neutrality moot.
Her reporting largely fictitious.
Your ignorance is not my problem. The fact that you sit there all day and still don’t know that Congress was issuing passes says a great deal about your competence as a reporter. Being a bad, incoherent reporter isn’t the worst thing in the world. Plenty of people are incompetent, and that’s perfectly fine. What is far worse is being a bad person- recording people without their knowledge, making personal remarks about others, and carrying tales from one person to another. Professional incompetence is one thing. A lack of personal integrity is quite another.

That Nikhil Kamath clip to come out on Karnataka Rajyotsava day.
Shows the depth of the elite alienation caused by Dharma void.
The question is not about 'incentive' Kamath, it is about 'civilizational being and belonging'.
Great example of reason divorced from Lokasamgraha.

Yes he can question how the money gets shared. That's a fair debate within the law of the republic. But he went further n asked why stay in the Union at all, n that makes it political. @nikhilkamathcio argument is no diff from Sharjeel's.
Both r pushing a genealogical democracy. Sharjeel drew the line by religion, he's drawing it by region n language. In both cases ur loyalty depends on who ur ppl r, not on the country u live in n the constitution u share.
India works bcs a guy from Bihar n a guy from Bengaluru r equal citizens of the same land. Once u start asking what "my ppl" get out of it, there's no end. Next it's Kannadigas vs Tamils over Kaveri water, then north Karnataka vs Bengaluru.
The Republic of Bharat is sacred. Argue about the formula all u want but the Union itself isn't up for negotiation.

Would the South have been able to develop with factories and ports, had the Freight Equalisation Policy not been in place? Depriving the North of much needed revenue?
We are one country. We depend on each other. The south now depends on the north for labour as well. If all the labour left, who is going to run the factories?
My take - I don't fully agree or disagree with him.
Truth is, India had minerals/resources in the North traditionally and sea/coast access in the South. So the South developed with factories, ports, and IT.
Funds indeed flow from the South to the North, and it is natural for angst to build among people who feel they get less in return.
While we have a responsibility to care for the underdeveloped North, the real question is: HOW LONG?
80 years after independence, why is the North still unable to develop? Even a father will stop funding a son who is not getting employed and just loitering after a few years.
We need accountability, not just redistribution

Hello, @TheCommuneMag, a word of advice. Using "Christutva" is wrong in more ways than one. Firstly, political Christianity is just Christianity: Christutva is redundant. Secondly, it muddles the philosophy of Hindutva. Thirdly, and more importantly, it reflects on Kansaratva.

As a Bangladeshi American Hindu, I don’t want to be grouped with genociding Pakistanis that still deny the 1971 genocide and ethnic cleansing of Bengalis. My forefathers didn’t sacrifice themselves for me to live and be labeled “South asian” with our oppressors.
