And he noted that many officers aren’t particularly sympathetic to DULF’s work. ā€œThere's a lotta conservative cops,ā€ Heard told them.

putting scare quotes around "non-medicalized" as if it's anything but objectively a non-medicalized model while yelling from some weird corner of twitter like he has a fraction of an understanding of what judge decided
An activist judge has declared that federal laws against drug trafficking violate the charter, and that there is a right to ā€œnon-medicalizedā€ safe supply. This is what happens when you let idiot judges overstep their authority on policy debates they have no expertise on. westernstandard.news/bc/brea…

today Justice Catherine Murray threw out the charges against Kalicum and Nyx, saying they did a "public service at considerable personal cost." "You selflessly put yourselves to the side for this cause, and that's something most people wouldn't do. For that, I applaud you."

Vancouver cops are calling border enforcement more than ever. VPD immigration status checks have spiked 80%. At particular risk are migrants who are unhoused, those who can’t afford transit fare, sex workers, drivers apprehended during traffic stops. defactomedia.ca/vpd-immigrat…

Human rights protections, public healthcare, and strong public services in BC could be wiped out forever because our government and media allowed the spread of a racist anti-Indigenous moral panic without much in the way of defense.
Caroline Elliott: ā€œI encourage the Conservative Party of BC to hold the leadership vote immediately in the event an election is called. It is imperative the party is led into a general election by a leader chosen by the members, for the membersā€¦ā€ #bcpoli #vanpoli

Carney hasn’t uttered a word about Danielle Smith using the notwithstanding clause against trans people.
The notion that Mark Carney is somehow abandoning šŸ³ļøā€šŸŒˆšŸ³ļøā€āš§ļø rights is utterly absurd. He has been resolutely consistent, using the strongest possible language, supporting our communities from Day One. It's not performative for him. It's personal: Mark Carney supports his loved ones. Suggesting otherwise is inflammatory and highly irresponsible. In my own life I've learned the only path toward understanding and peace, the only way to break hate, is breaking bread with those who hate us. Division gets us nowhere. Mark Carney knows that. He's a bridge builder for a better more progressive Canada.

this package was in Richmond yesterday, on a warm, sunny day, but @UPS removed the location and replaced it with some vague warning about "significant weather events across the globe" and I wish they would just say it fell off the back of their truck like a normal person
