As a former Software Engineer, DBA, and implementer over the course of my over 20-year career in tech, I hope I have the creds to say this, and the chops to back it up, so here goes: The state of software is sad. We've been writing the same CRUD apps for 20-ish years, running the same 10 languages, the same 100 libraries, etc. Software development has to fundamentally change in order to become more advanced and look like whatever is 'next'. /end rant
