Dr Jeanne is one of the most impressive people I've ever had the privilege to meet. Proud to have worked alongside her in Kigali - she is an inspiration. I've committed to monthly giving at canadahelps.org/en/charities… - please join me! #CASIEFcares Thank you Dr Jeanne!
We are honoured to share the inspirational story of Dr Jeanne, the only anesthesiologist left in Rwanda after the genocide in 1994. Consider setting up monthly giving at canadahelps.org/en/charities… #CASIEFcares find out more about our work at casief.ca

You've been an absolute superstar in this role! We will all miss you - thanks so much for putting so much into this program and taking it to an entirely new level
After 6.5 years, today is my final day as a Director of the Zambia Anaesthesia Development Program and @gadpartnerships trustee. It's been an honour beyond words. Anaesthesia in Zambia holds a special place in my heart, & I'm excited to continue supporting its growth in new ways.

My perspective on AAs; a 🧵 I was an ANP before medical school and am now a specialty doctor in anaesthetics. I work with 2 qualified AAs who are excellent, I am often asked for my opinion given my background, so here it is a long thread including my own story.

What do I think about AAs? I wish I’d been one. I’d be at least £50k better off with amazing training. I’d be spending my life giving anaesthetics in daytime hours. They’re living the dream while medics are in the bin. Medics must stay in the bin & #BeKind. Or else. <ends>

Replying to @dylanbould
With good quality training, NPAPs along with Anesthesiologists can be the most feasible, economical and practical way of anesthetic care more in LMICs but also in HICs. It also helps with alleviating burnout among anesthesiologists .

My new @OurWorldInData article is out: ourworldindata.org/global-fi… It is about the global fight against polio. A generation ago, polio paralyzed hundreds of thousands of children every year. Today our generation has the chance to eradicate it entirely — if we make it a priority.

Up to 80% of cancer cases require surgical intervention. Yet, a large part of the population doesn't have access to surgical care. This is not acceptable. Not on #WorldCancerDay, and not on any other day. 👉 Let's #CloseTheCareGap, visit globalsurgeryfoundation.org/…
