Delighted to see the Land Rover Discovery I drove from London to Poland in the hands of defenders. Wishing them every safety and success in driving out the murderous invaders 💙💛

Hey @UberEats – what’s going on with UK driver allocation? My order sits > 1hr waiting for driver while ETA keeps going back again & again. This isn’t about the restaurant or driver — it’s clearly an @ubereats_uk issue. I’m an @UberOne member increasingly wondering why!? 🤨

On this day, 30 years ago, Ukraine signed the Budapest Memorandum. According to the Memorandum, Ukraine agreed to relinquish its nuclear arsenal (third largest in the world) in exchange for security assurances from the US, the UK, and russia. 1/n

This week in 1991 - 33 years ago - Ukrainians voted overwhelmingly (92%) for their independence. In the Donbass region, the pro-independence vote was 85%. Even in Crimea it was 54%. Overall turnout was 84%. That day, Ukrainians chose to be sovereign and shape their own future.

In 1994, with the signing of the Budapest Memorandum, Ukraine denuclearized in exchange for guarantees from Russia, the US, and the UK for sovereign borders and independence. Ukraine has lived up to its commitments. The guarantors have not.

#BREAKING: Andrea Mitchell: "The NYTimes reported that in his first year in office, @realDonaldTrump, in his first meeting in Hamburg Germany, with #Putin... he asked Putin, 'Should I be arming Ukraine?', and Putin said no...and Tillerson[SecOfState]came out and in real time told the other advisers staying there, 'We have a real problem.'"😳🤦‍♀️

Timothy Snyder drops serious wisdom here. Russians thought they only needed to kill "the elite" of Ukraine the rest would accept that they are Russian. Upon discovering it was a fallacy and ALL Ukrainians will fight, it became a genocide operation.

Zelensky explains the Ukrainian perspective on negotiations with russia. Negotiating is not the problem. The problem is, what is the cost? Ukraine will not accept a proposal where it is forced to pay the cost of a war it did not start, and does not want. This war is russia's responsibility, and it can end today if russia wants. They can remove their soldiers and go home. Why do people not talk about that as a realistic solution? The cost would be much lower on russia than it is on Ukraine. Russia just needs to remove its soldiers and its equipment, and go back home. It's simple.

Free speech is a crime in Putin’s Russia. Yet US Free speech advocates (like Musk & Carlson) platform and cheerlead for Putin and his murderous regime 😏 🤦‍♂️ 🤔 bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-…

Imagine there is a woman, trapped in a marriage that she never agreed to. Her husband beats her, suppresses her, and does not accept her independence. Finally, she is able to flee the torture of this marriage. She seeks a relationship with another man, that does not beat her, accepts her independence and freedom, but her former husband does not agree at all. He starts beating her again whenever he can reach her. Her new husband sometimes does not even believe her when she tells him about all these incidents. Her former husband spreads lies about her all the time. The situation is discussed in the media, and experts and scientists in "Men's studies" find a lot of arguments as to why her former husband had to beat her and has some right to "possess" her, even if they don't agree with the violence. These experts also tell the media why the former husband acts the way he does, suggesting that his ex-wife and her new husband provoked him too much. The woman is Ukraine, the ex-husband is Russia, and this metaphor is more accurate than many of us are ready to admit...

The James Webb telescope appears to have detected dimethyl sulfide (DMS) in the atmosphere of a planet ~125 light-years from earth. This is not conclusive proof of alien life, but to the best of our scientific knowledge, DMS is only produced by living organisms. nasa.gov/universe/exoplanets…

US Senator and war hero John McCain passed away five years ago on this day. He was one of the few who predicted exactly how Putin was planning to "rebuild the Soviet empire". The video below is from an 2014 interview:

Isn’t it odd that so many who defend freedom of speech (often to misinform and/or divide society), should give so much political goodwill to the dictator who suppresses it the most? Very strange times indeed. bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-…
