The six public sector banks that have waived minimum balance penalties for savings accounts are:

- Punjab National Bank (effective July 2025)
- Bank of Baroda (effective July 1, 2025)
- Canara Bank (effective May 2025)
- Indian Bank (effective July 7, 2025)
- Bank of India (effective July 2025)
This follows a parliamentary recommendation to stop such charges.
