The Conversion Practices Bill rests on assumption that gender identity exists and is more important than biological sex. And the intention is that police and social workers and teachers will enforce that belief within family life.
The Conversion Practices Draft Bill will create new crimes that interfere with family settings and criminalise ordinary conversations between parents & children. No family will be spared. #BinTheBill #DontCriminaliseParents #DontCriminaliseConversation

Despite the Equality Act 2010, the @ForWomenScot Supreme Court clarification and @EHRC guidance, the @GOVUK still uses tax payer money to fund thirty sports that do not comply with the law and still allow males to compete in the female category at some level /3

An amendment to the sporting events bill was defeated by Labour voting against it. @louie_french (and I as I suggested it in The Lords) Conservative shadow sports minister wanted int. events brought to this country to insist the female category is protected as the ioc does, & the uk Supreme Court ruling stipulates .. sadly Labour doesn’t seem to care if our girls get fair sport

We have now written an open letter to the Bridget Phillipson regarding the misinformation that appeared in her article on the conversion practices bill this weekend. This level of nonsense in public debates is getting ridiculous and it is time she and her officials sorted it.
1/ We’ve written to the Secretary of State for Equalities concerning misinformation that appeared in an article she wrote over the weekend. It’s important that the debate around the draft conversion bill is accurate and the Minister should promote this. gaymensnetwork.co.uk/letters

How dare Bridget Phillipson and Stonewall say that parents that seek to dissuade their daughters from trying to live "as men" or their sons from trying to live "as women" are not compassionate.
“We would have been jailed...” In this week’s podcast, @HJoyceGender speaks to the mother of a detransitioner, who warns that proposed conversion-practices legislation could result in families like hers facing criminal charges. Watch and share: youtube.com/watch?v=GiAXq5IU…

It would be my most dearest wish to be arrested and charged with a criminal offence for saying that the medical or surgical transition of children is profoundly abusive and has no evidence base. I really, really, really hope this happens. I am very confident that I will be able to make something very special out of that - on a very public stage.

Bridget Phillipson's assurance that 'refusing to accept a child's identity' will not be prosecutable under conversion practices legislation is contradicted by the bill itself, which says that 'psychological or emotional pressure' with the intention of changing 'transgender identity' could qualify as a criminal offence. How can Phillipson know how a court will interpret 'refusing to accept a child's identity' given the vague and open-ended definitions in the bill? An op-ed by a politician will be scant consolation when a parent is facing a criminal claim or a protection order that will destroy their relationship with their child. And the question remains: what 'abuse' is the bill designed to tackle that is not already an offence in law? archive.ph/BDRJN

A secret recording, by one of us, from the Labour Party fringe meeting (hosted by Stonewall) on the conversion therapy bill - the lunacy prevails!

The government’s own impact statement on the #ConversionPracticesDraftBill shows the evidence base for conversion practices is weak. It is based on self selecting samples & studies from North America. A weak government using weak evidence to introduce a bad law. #BinTheBil

Helen Joyce closed the #BattleFest Draft Conversion Bill panel by asking everybody to send in a submission to the pre-legislative committee. One point is sufficient. Let the committee know what matters to you. [email protected] Tell a local Labour MP what matters to you. #BinTheBill @BinTheBill_ committees.parliament.uk/com…

Women, especially lesbian women, many in her own party weren't just attacked, they were threatened - often by men in the party. Where was her solidarity then? Or is it ok if Jenny dislikes them?
“An attack on one minority is an attack on us all.” Everyone deserves to live openly, safely and without fear of discrimination. Protecting the rights of minorities and standing up for equality matters for all of us, not just those directly affected.

The session on trans-themed books for children was standing room only at #BattleFest2026. Good to see so many people aware of the harms of the politicisation of children's literature and children's publishing.

The Galop report analysed cases from frontline services. The “hundreds” were actually just 51 people who specifically sought help for alleged conversion practices. Surely the #ConversionPracticesDraftBill should be based on truth, not hyperbole. #BinTheBill

By complete chance, I first met Sally decades ago, and she is a rock solid person, who sensible policy makers would be having in the door, to protect themselves from the dangers of snake oil salesmen, grifters and other lobbyists. Delighted to see this.
UCL professor Sallie Baxendale, who has faced personal abuse and smear campaigns after she raised concerns over the impact of puberty blockers on young people’s brains, has been shortlisted for the Maddox Prize for “standing up for science”. @jgro_the reports #science #research #MaddoxPrize timeshighereducation.com/new…

Conversion Practices / The institutional grooming of children. Every time a child has their gender identity pronouns affirmed at school, children are being subjected to a pernicious form of conversion practice. Or a boy plays in a girls team in a competitive match. Why? 1/5

The Gendered Child may not tell you anything new about children and their development. However, what it will definitely do, is provide you with the evidence about child and brain development to back up what you INSTINCTIVELY already know. It is that type of resource.

And you’d be leading a party that thinks it’s okay to target Jewish people because of where they worship . Nice xitter.cf/janeprinsley/status/21…
Amendment 3 on Jewish safety, clarifying that members will not be targeted for attending Zionist synagogues, has fallen 648 to 1026. Not even close - some Jewish greens expected to leave the party now

We would add that @JohnSwinney @ScotGovFM agreed to meet us over 18 months ago. He's been far too busy ever since. So forgive us if we don't think he's fully committed to this principle!
