[...] Friday the 13th : in this horror movie the main antagonist Jason is a mentally ill and deformed boy who after being left to drown became a serial killer. Killing hundreds of people. Jason especially target those who "sins" (drug, alcohol, sex) as those are related to his drowning. The movie depicts all of the above as well as gore. [...] Hellraiser : in this horror movie Frank the main antagonist kills his niece father, tries to have sex with her before trying to kill her. He accidentally stabs the girls mother, his accomplices, killing her without remorse after she brought him men he killed to escape hell. Frank got here by using the puzzle box to summon the cenobite. Which are a hedonistic supernatural cult centered around extreme sadomasochism. Mutilating and scarring themselves with hooks, pins etc ... The movie depicts extreme gore, sadomasochism, body horror, incest etc ... [...] (Keep in mind I've simplified everything for the sake of this post but I have consumed every IP cited here and most of those who have partnered with DBD.) [...] So what's my point exactly ? Well, DBD wants to be the museum of horror in video games form. Partnering up with various iconic horror IP's. Most of them depict fairly controversial/salacious/extreme theme and content. Yet despite that. A loud and vocal group of DBD player thinks that a cringe edgy streamer who appeals to late zoomer (teenager and young adult) is the worst thing that happened to this game because he's "problematic" and said the word "faggot" once. They say worst thing in Tokyo ghoul casually and on a regular basis lmao. I know. Cause I have read it all. [...] Ignoring all the absurd drama, especially all the doxxing, swatting, insane amount of racism towards Asian and White people from partnered creators. When you see a content creator or player cry about "oh no my inclusive and safe space DBD community." Know that these are blatant lies. This is all an act, because it's closer to a cult. Q cult fueled by an us VS them mentality, an insane degree of toxic positivity, absurd vitriol and man children. I have played DBD, and some of the things I've been called in that game I cannot say here without getting my account suspended. And I played league for years and know dozens of way on how to tell someone to "game over themselves" thanks to that game, and I still think DBD is worse. [...] From a pure PR perspective do I think the employee should have said that ? Probably not unless they were fully committed to chasing this new audience. And considering the game subsist on borrowed IP it probably wasn't a bad idea. While the statement they made by itself is decent, they ended up satisfying no one. They should have committed to it at that point it was already too late. Once again I do not like peanut. But the only thing he did was playing the game, and the dev wanted to make it easier for him so he could promote and showcased the game better to his massive audience. Nothing else. What a Fucking circus.
