🧵 Time for a short end-of-2025 wrap up 🧵
Genuinely aiming for this to be a short one for two reasons:
1. I'm doing it at the last moment 😅
2. Most of what I was involved in is not stuff that can be shared publicly (yet… or ever?). Or maybe I was just lazy...
Let's go [1/12]
I can see @elonmusk has entered his navy seal copypasta arc.

JD - I've got 15 free minutes before my son's hockey practice ends, so let me see how many of Trump's enrichment schemes you didn't see that I can remind you of.
1/ First one is easy: Trump has executed over 30,000 stock trades, many on inside information, netting him millions.

So Mr. Trump has the right to cut the Starlink signal to Europeans.
And at the same time, Europeans don't have the right to promote their own services?
Time to wake up, Europe.

European companies face “devastating” retaliation from Washington if Brussels presses ahead with plans to restrict American rivals such as Elon Musk’s SpaceX from parts of the European market, the US ambassador to the EU warned in an interview with @FT’s @BMoens and @HenryJFoy.

Did Seantor @ElissaSlotkin say people should be prosecuted just for working for the Trump administration?
As with the Talarico in a mental hospital story, something going viral on right-wing twitter is based on lies. This happens again and again.
She's talking about prosecuting people for the unprecedented corruption that this administration has engaged in.
Of course that's what she was talking about. This administration is so corrupt and so lawless that there aren't enough prosecutorial resources in the world to pursue every case. They'll get away with almost everything. Slotkin is talking about bringing justice to at least a few of the criminals.
Here's what Slotkin said shortly before the selectively edited clip.
"Number two, we do have to have accountability for the unbelievable corruption that we are living under right now. But you can’t just make that your whole personality, right? So you have to pick signature cases and you have to go after people and projects that are just super egregious. So everyone knows the East Wing of the White House, right? And people feel that in a way that’s different from a nameless contract at the Pentagon or whatever. So, you need to pick those signature cases and go hard on accountability, not just Trump, right? Because of course there will be moments of like, let’s go after Trump himself as someone who voted to impeach him twice. Like, he’s still there, right? But the people around Donald Trump who are doing his bidding and enabling this have no such immunity. They have no immunity the way the president does. And to me, he couldn’t do any of this stuff without all those people saluting and and supporting it. So you go after the people who do did his bidding."
It's amazing to me these people still have a victim complex. Trump barely pretends to care about the law. He fires prosecutors until they bring him the cases he wants. Trump supporters simply refuse to accept the truth about what this administration is. So of course, they need to constantly lie.
I would hate that too. @elonmusk would piss me off so much and really own all the libs if he spent his money on cancer cures and ending hunger instead of... whatever this is. I really hope he doesn't. It would really be such a loss for the left.

Incredible corruption
The country is being looted by a mafia
BREAKING: Companies whose federal cases were dropped under Trump have given or pledged $210.5 million to his super PACs, per a new Public Citizen report.
Crypto, com: $37 million, after the SEC dropped an investigation
Gemini: $20 million, plus $10 million each from founders Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, after the SEC closed a similar probe
Andreessen Horowitz founders: $12 million, with nine portfolio companies tied to canceled federal actions
Public Citizen says more than 200 companies have benefited from canceled, frozen or weakened federal enforcement.

I know this narrative is common but it is factually incorrect. Amongst several AI categories the top 1 or top 2 company is European:
- CX: @parloa_ai is German
- Vibe coding: @Lovable is Swedish
- TTS: @ElevenLabs is Polish/British
- Legal: @WeAreLegora is Swedish
- Video: @synthesiaIO is British
- Robotics: @1x_tech is Norwegian/American
And many more that I might have missed out. Behind maybe but just about and fighting hard. Almost none of these companies existed a few years ago!
Marc Andreessen on why he thinks Europe actually wants to be left behind on AI
"Europe seems, I just take them at their word, determined to be left behind. They seem enthusiastic about being left behind. They seem to really badly want that"
"25 years ago, if you did a list of the 50 biggest tech companies in the world, a pretty significant number were European, probably 15 of the top 50. Today you're basically down to Spotify. Which is great. I love Spotify"
"I think they would be very happy if AI didn't happen inside the EU. I think they'd be very happy if social media didn't exist. I think they'd be quite happy to shut up the internet"
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha*breath*hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
If you steal from American taxpayers, you WILL be held accountable. House Republicans will NEVER stop fighting against fraud.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Donald Trump has granted clemency to dozens of individuals convicted of financial crimes that directly target American taxpayers or the federal government. Across his two terms, over half of his individual (non-blanket) clemency grants have benefited white-collar offenders

Please let's just get EU-inc to the finishline in its full ambition.
It will be the first step towards Europe showing to its builders, investors, and citizens that we are back, we want growth, and that we are yet again ambitious.
Europe, make it happen 🇪🇺

Europe’s founders need a European standard to compete globally from day one.
Europe’s leaders committed to delivering one. But their teams are negotiating away the very things that make it one.
There is still time to change course if Europe's Heads of State step in now.
I never expected to enjoy listening to 6 minutes of Nick Fuentes, but dang it if that isn't a beautiful message of hope for America.
Get out and vote blue in November!
@TheDemocrats, make Nick's predictions happen 😉
Today we are proud to announce a new technology for training neural networks: we call it "backprop".

I have a feeling that this architecture can be a strong competitor to LSTM.
