Amazon and Google haven't merged (yet) but it's interesting how this 2016 Tweet predicted AI... @EDUcaustic

Both my parents have since passed away but their former address still gets IRC cards with @YiyingLu designs on them. (Such cool art!)
OMG. I just realized: @YiyingLu, these cards are your design, aren't they?!? My folks got them years ago as a promo from @theIRC and fell in love with the style. I tracked down the image series (on Getty, I think?) awhile later. Love, love, love your art!

Not a "lament" but an observation and question: Where do today's "social conversations" happen? An hour in, and I could count all the #MinneBar "tweets" without taking off my shoes at #Minnebar20 - how do strangers become "digital friends" these days?

I don't want to be the "back in MY day" guy, but circa 2010 if felt like we had a huge back-channel of tweeting to engage in presentations and make connections. Is that asynchronous virtual #minnebar community connecting elsewhere, or did it disappear?

The email I got said #minnebar20. Let's make it trend! See you there, @minnestar community 🔥
Biggest question of the day: Are we going to use the #minnebar hashtag or the #minnebar20 one? :) Either way, I'll be there. What a great tradition for the MSP community!

As I typed the word "discombobulated" in Outlook email it started to auto-suggest "discomfortful" which isn't even a word. (Maybe it should be?)

Pro tip: if you're a @backblaze customer make sure you've checked the box for free one-year retention (the default is 30 days). My secondary drive died around 33 days ago (and I missed the "drive unavailable" email). Oh, well. I have most of the family photos elsewhere too. :/

Okay, I think I got things figured out and if this works, color me impressed with @backblaze - before failing, my drive lost about 90% of its content. I think I got lucky but it'd have been easier if I had flipped that year-long retention switch sooner! :)

Okay, friends, you know what I'm gonna ask: If you've got a Sora invite code, let me know. :)

The big question is whether we're under the #minnebar hashtag or the #minnebar19 hashtag... or has today's social conversation moved to other sites? Regardless, @minnestar rocks! What a great tradition here in MSP!

What a weird close to #SNL with Michael Keaton zipping his fly up (coming out of a sketch that didn’t have any special costumed pants, so… ???)

Here's a weird one that might turn into a PSA: I reinstalled @telegram for a thing, plugged in my phone number, and it said it was sending the confirmation code to the Telegram app on "my other device". That'd be my old phone. Long gone. So, don't upgrade your phone, I guess?

Help me out, friends. I'm on a webinar and just saw a chat comment of "I tell ChatGPT how I want it to behave, and yes, it's extremely leftist, likely programmed that way." Is there any actual evidence of that, or is that just paranoid ranting? How is ChatGPT output "leftist"?!?

I'm processing the fact that a recent book on church transitions says pastors who interfere in others' ministries risk losing their credentials for "discourteous conduct". (This finally explains to me why so many cowardly "leaders" will let sexual exploitation go unchallenged.)
In the midst of watching the evangelical church fall apart, I'm going to share a story here I've never shared publicly. Around 2005, my husband was a youth pastor & I was a worship leader at a church in Mississippi. We loved that place. The pastor became like a father to us. The congregation was our family. A few years into ministry, a congregant invited me to lunch. This woman & her family had moved from Arkansas to Mississippi to help our pastor start the church we were a part of. During our lunch, she very nonchalantly shared that our pastor had been SENT to MS to start a new church because he had been having an affair with his son's girlfriend. Her family had felt "called" to support him. I was speechless. We resigned the next day. These things are happening under the radar ALL THE TIME because God forbid a pastor face any consequences & have to get a real job. Just move him to another state because he has a "calling". I am disgusted at the state of the "church", the complete lack of concern for the victims & casualties these situations leave behind (do a little research & find out how many people have left their faith behind because of this kind of deceit), and the desperation for ministries to "save face" rather than face themselves in the mirror. I was in the music business for decades & what I've seen in the church is WORSE. Operation Burn the House Down needs to ensue. #morningstar #rickjoyner #ihopkc #mikebickle #pullbackthecurtain

This is a really interesting thread (and series of comments) on the challenges of medical studies... and the range of opinions out there, from "promising treatment thwarted by Big Pharma" to "incredibly dangerous drug that shouldn't be tested".
Yesterday, the FDA rejected MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD treatment. This came as a surprise to tons of people since the phase 3 trials showed *really* promising results. And a lot of people are pretty angry at the FDA right now. So why did the FDA reject it? A 🧵

And when it came time, helped her find safety amidst a dangerous situation. Ministry isn’t done on a high horse or in an ivory tower. It’s done on the ground. In the trenches of life. With love, compassion, empathy, and genuine care. (End)

I wanted to help a local group set up a simple info website, Zoho's page designer is a mess, and I'd heard good things about @squarespace ...but their support documents are incorrect: DNS configuration is a one-time-only display. (The alleged "DNS Settings" link doesn't exist.)

Technically, at the moment, things work... But the fact that I can't trust the Squarespace documentation and I'm unable to retrieve configuration values makes me wonder what else I'm going to discover they're wrong about. (Anyone out there have good luck with their hosting?)
