To the “everyone is Autistic or ADHD now” crowd:
When the whole world stopped in 2020, and everyone was mandated to stay in their homes, every burnt out, high-masking autistic person got to finally drop the lifelong masks and just be themselves for months.
And when social distancing policies started dropping and we got back to “normal,” it was impossible for those people to simply pick those lifelong masks back up as we dropped them, shattered them.
Just sit with that.
Today is the first foggy morning where Sir Ruskin (my rusty owl) has a bejewelled cobwebs
He's really settling in
(Made by the fabulous Mick Kirkby-Geddes)
And today, book two in the series went live on Kindle (paperback to follow)
What happens several years into the adoption journey?
And Trauma Made Five is an "unputdownable" story that's "heart wrenching and heart-warming"

What shall I make for tea?
Let's start with who is eating.
Deffo - two adults.
Maybe - son and GF
Maybe - daughter and new friend (whose tastes I know nothing about)
Everyone likes/ dislikes/ loathes different things and I'm gluten-free
Even meals are cryptic conundrums
What I missed most was
1. Solutions and signposts - when I described dysregulation central and someone mentioned PACE or NVR
2. Understanding - when I described something I was finding hard, someone going "that's tough, we've got you"
3. Community - feeling I belonged.

🚨 NEW: People with ADHD can now get a third off train tickets under Government changes to the disabled railcard to include people with neurodivergence
None appeal.
I don't like harsh edges (3 and 4 are out)
Or uneven tines (2)
I prefer a smooth even texture with no embossing (like 3 and 4 but the corner means nope)
This week I resigned from a voluntary role I enjoyed
Because when life adds more plates to the ones you're already struggling to keep spinning, something has to give
EHCPs, DLA & PIP, SEND, adoption, neurodiversity, mental health...
That's more than a full-time role
When my husband had a TIA (mini-stroke) his symptom was being unable to follow a text conversation
He thought the other person was drunk
Until the next morning when their texts made complete sense ...
The first sign of a stroke might not seem like much, like not being able to raise your arm. Or struggling to smile. Or slurring when you speak. Any sign of a stroke is always an emergency.
Face or arm or speech, at the first sign, it's time to call 999.

Draw with Rob was a lockdown slice of sanity for me (and one of our kids)
I'll never forget those moments of shared crafting....
It's the season of the witch's cat, so grab your pens and pencils and draw one with me! #DrawWithRob #Halloween 🐈⬛

It's been two and a half years.
Quite alot has happened.
And by "alot" I mean soooo much.
Who is still here?
I missed you guys and I couldn't find you all elsewhere.
We're now in the teenage years and it's nearly broken us.
Say hello if you're still here.
So pleased with my January make -
I’ve set myself a goal to creating a wreath-addition for each month
January’s is a cute snowman complete with bobble hat
