There is no longer a debate will Hyperliquid on-shore into the United States. The regulatory overhang that prevented most people from buying earlier is now lifted.
It looks like Payward the parent company of Kraken will be the first CFTC regulated deployer of HIP-3* markets.
The question now becomes what does HIP-3* look like in 5 years from now. Which major financial institutions will step in and become regulated deployers of HIP-3* markets, who will provide institutional grade liquidity to HIP-3* markets and how much flow can Institutional markets really drive.
Energy, Compute, Equities and Indicies all traded 24/7 available in the U.S. settled on HyperCore.
Payward, the parent company of Kraken, announced its intention to be the first CFTC-regulated deployer on HIP-3* markets. Payward will use Hyperliquid as the infrastructure layer to deploy perpetual futures markets for US clients. Subject to regulatory approval, Bitnomial, Payward’s CFTC-regulated DCM and DCO, would act as the HIP-3* deployer: creating, owning, and administering the markets and clearing and settling the contracts. If approved, NinjaTrader Clearing, Payward’s CFTC-registered FCM, would carry client accounts.
HIP-3 will support optional deployer configuration for permissioned markets in a future network upgrade. This set of additional deployer functionality is collectively called HIP-3*. At its core, HIP-3* activation involves an onchain allowlist managed by the deployer or its sub-deployers. The functionality is strictly additive to HIP-3; its use is optional and up to the deployer. Existing markets remain unchanged. The initial release is available on testnet, where specifications are preliminary and subject to change based on feedback.
Hyperliquid is a neutral infrastructure layer with the goal of supporting large parts of the financial system. HIP-3* gives deployers additional functionality to operate deployments consistent with the requirements applicable to them. As with HIP-3, HIP-3* deployers are independent operators who use Hyperliquid as the onchain infrastructure layer for their own markets, while retaining control and responsibility over their deployment.

the LONG ecosystem (now integrated into the official RH app, one of only 2 RH native projects) got several upgrades that fundamentally changed liquidity dynamics, all centered around one singular asset...

Security risks (AI-driven hacks, mathematical breakthroughs & quantum computing) have become increasingly concerning in recent weeks both personally & for the broader market.
$ZEC looks like the best way to play this, and the market is already showing us that with clear divergence vs BTC/ETH/SOL/HYPE/TOTAL3ES over the past couple weeks.
Additionally, short-term spot & derivatives positioning looks significantly cleaner vs earlier this month. ETF flows have just flipped positive again after ~3 weeks of outflows, while coin-denominated OI is at its lowest level since August.
Separately, OTC desks are still seeing strong interest from liquid & VC funds, with ZEC reportedly remaining one of the most bought altcoins by funds even at these elevated prices.
I generally view protocol upgrades as weak catalysts in isolation, but the January upgrade feels different. Tachyon addresses the scalability improvements the community has been waiting for, while the quantum component of the upgrade addresses one of the highest mindshare risks to the industry. Together, I think they make for a much stronger catalyst than either would on its own.
I haven’t looked too deeply into the underlying tech or whether the proposed upgrades will actually deliver meaningful quantum resistance, and I don’t care to. When all the tastemakers (Naval, Balaji, a16z, Paradigm, Dragonfly & Multicoin) are pushing the ZEC narrative as a hedge against BTC, the realities of what it’s tech can or can’t actually do aren’t part of the thesis.
The combination of improving positioning, continued institutional demand, relative strength & an increasingly powerful narrative makes for an attractive setup, even in shaky market conditions. I expect my conviction to continue building as we approach January.
I have no strong view on market direction over the coming months, and the quantum tailwind for ZEC is a headwind for BTC, so I’m hedged vs BTC on a vol-adjusted basis, but think a naked long is also justified.
Quantum is the crypto equivalent of cancer and ZEC is the cure. Don’t find yourself Zidelined on the road past $2k

You should be buying coins where the marginal buyer is the protocol themselves rather than hoping somebody else comes along. If a team isn't buying their own token, you shouldn't be either

This literally just makes it a better memecoin knowing the term ragebaits the president THIS much. Adds another layer to the fun, and no people wont stop using the term.
