I’ve been into fitness all my life & the most complete program I’ve come across in all that time is Wholistic Fitness. The best kept secret out there.
A complete Mind & Body program that challenges you to do your best in all areas & take your workout everywhere you are, everyday.
First run in the new Avelo Smart shoes. Quite comfortable on this easy run (with a few sprints at the end). Be interesting to see the metrics after my first few runs to get through the diagnostic runs. Also to see how the metrics compare with my Garmin run pod.
My new Avelo Smart shoes have arrived! Backed these on kickstarter quite awhile back so excited to finally have them here. Looking forward to tomorrows scheduled run and start them calibrating/learning.

Nice to get my upgraded WurQ @CrossFit wearable this AM. I’ve enjoyed using being Beta user of the Gen1 device and the metrics it provides. No better device for tracking CrossFit WODs with valuable feedback.
Interesting listening to the @richroll podcast with
@DrAndyGalpin & how the view has changed from Rich's podcast with @brianmackenzie years ago (both see things as Technique/Form first). CrossFit Endurance was right & still alive!

Nice gym setup here @Ink48Hotel
I’ve seen some really bare bones @hotelgyms_com recently but this one is one of the better ones I’ve seen for a small space. Wish I had more time here to take advantage of all it offers but grateful to be able to get another road workout in.
Treated myself on Prime day and upgraded my @formswim goggles. Replacing my older Smart Swim 1’s with Smart Swim 2’s. Looking forward to experiencing the improvements.
Got over to Float41 here in town for some Contrast Therapy and Float Therapy. Two observations:
1. Cold Plunges minutes are longer than CrossFit minutes.
2. Of all the recovery/wellness modalities I’ve tried nothing resets the nervous system like an hour in the float tank.
Had a lot of fun trying @iflyus Indoor Skydiving today. Instructor was great and I was getting the hang of controlling my ups & downs and moving around. I can see why folks would do repeat flights. Would for sure go again.
Bare bones in this Hotel Gym (with two Out of Order ellipticals), but still enough to get in a WOD I found on a cheerleading site & a challenging threshold run. @hotelgyms_com @CrossFit @iFit
4 Rounds
400M Run
10 KB Swings
15 Thrusters
6 x 3:00 at threshold pace w/:90 Recovery
Been going back through @EndurancePlanet "Ask The Coaches" library (I downloaded them all) & I sure miss hearing @tawneegibson & Lucho answering questions. Hope they doing well but I miss their thoughts & advice. Would like to find another podcast in similar format.
Been working in one double session per week for the past month. Sometimes a run, sometimes a ride. Key has been actually not scheduling it and just letting it happen when the opportunity arises. Enjoying the flexibility it gives me to get in a bit more volume and variety.
Super productive couple of days of training. Lactate Threshold Test yesterday. Happy to see the HR drop & pace quicken. Backed that up today with a Doubles day (Gym in AM, Bike in PM). And capped it off with my monthly deep tissue massage to head into my monthly recovery day.
A trip to the track for more of my yearly fitness testing. Got in times for 100m, 200m, 400m, 500m & 800m. After some recovery, it was on to a Running Critical Power Test.
The track always looks easier than it really is…but so worth going to…
Great interview with @IcelandAnnie from Chasing Excellence. Loved the focus on the unseen non-physical parts of what training consistently gives you. Looking forward to reading the book as well.

@CrossFit
Knocked off another long time trail I’ve wanted to do by heading northeast from Portland, CT and going all the way to the Mass. line. Longest I’ve spent on the Mtn Bike. Thanks to Stefan & Larry for pulling me along and spending the hours and miles with me. @relivecc
Wrapped up my CrossFit Community Cup by getting workout 4 done on the road.
This one was sneaky hard with enough volume in each exercise so you feel it after each set. My weekly jump rope sessions paid off, so happy to get in just under 15:00 with a time of 14:51. @hotelgyms_com
Took my fitness on the road and smashed my @CrossFit L1 Benchmark PR with a gain of +2:28. Got it done in just under 5:00 (4:58). Only had to break once on final set of thrusters but happy with my ability to stay steady, especially on the burpees. Not bad for a 56 year old!
